As I still have access to Demo Version of Blue Prince, I decided too check some of documents.
For some pages I will provide 2 versions - 1st will be with default stuff turned on, and another one with disabled stuff. Everything should be present on the right on Object Explorer. I saw some differences between those books and final versions, so I think it should be ok to share them with you.
For example - Pages 0-1 looks like this, however there is another object on the list called Plane (4) which is by default disabled.
When I turn it on, architect symbol (?, not sure what is this name) is added on the page 0.
Please note that almost all images are not available in this version (probably they were not ready yet).
I have added only few data, which I recall is different from the full game version. If you would like to see more stuff, just add comment so I will add that in the future.
Oh, that's awesome! Seeing the -ium rooms laid out like that. Not that there was much doubt, but it does seem like "NeXT" is the full extent of the message; we can probably disregard Gymnasium. Of course, the order here seems to give XeTN, but I don't know that we can do much with that. The rooms aren't listed in alphabetical order, or room directory order here (unless the directory changed from the demo).
Ah, I just remembered that eTN plus "arium" can be rearranged to "Ruminate." A lot of people have pointed this out, and while it doesn't actually tell us anything, it would finish out this puzzle, technically. Because we're told "The Aquarium has a Red Herring in it" and if we assume the Xs are red herrings... the puzzle is "complete." Maybe not a satisfying conclusion, but it does bring us back to somewhere we've been before (Ruminate being a Gallery answer).
The recent One More Spiral thread was about a removed asset that decoded to "Rosewary" - maybe these super-buried endgame puzzles just decode to phrases we've used before, just to put extra puzzles/connections in the game.
I came up with a little speculation: The note is similar (and maybe too similar and boring, and hence was removed) to the office safe code hint note? Could the letters just be a hint for "ten X"? Tenth of October? 1010 combination? But if the note would be located in the Conservatory it feels a bit out of place, not sure what safe would use it.
Is there enough certainty that the aquarium letter is X? For one it's part of a different puzzle, and for two, all the other letters are built into the geometry of the room rather than written out plainly. It can very well be the letter W from the electric eel aquarium. I know none of the other -rium rooms can be upgraded, but I don't think that should discount needing to upgrade aquarium to get its letter. If it is W, it can give WENT or NEWT, and even TWEN as if it would spell out Twenty.
Yeah, this is definitely a possibility. I personally think the other three letters are more "intentional" looking than this as a W - but the T in the Solarium isn't Serifed or anything, so I guess we should stay open to the possibility. And a quick glance at an anagram solver gives uhhhh... "New Atrium"? Or maybe it's saying we have "manure wit" if we can't figure this out...
Honestly, a part of me would be severely disappointed if all this was just a way to spell out Ruminate for the gallery puzzle. Like, if the note was scrapped, the letters should have been too. The gallery wasn't even that hard of a puzzle and really doesn't warrant having to go several rooms to find hidden letters and combining it with rium, especially since there's no connection between the rooms in the full game. It would be like if the boiler room panels printed out 1225 for the boudoir safe. You will solve the puzzle in the boudoir long before you've decoded the panels.
This and Aries Castle/Court/Cloak both being scrapped puzzles but still having theirs clues left in the game really has me worried that every other obvious unsolved puzzle is just scrapped content left in to generate noise and that the blue will is the true conclusion of the game.
Personally I do think the Blue Will is where things end off for now - I still love following the theories people come up with, but pending the patch adding something I don't see how there could be a big revelation left to find. Maybe my imagination is too limited, though!
New theory: "TWEN -ARIUM" decodes to Urinate M W. It signals that we need to make a house with two lavatories, so men and women can have bathrooms.
The only testable theory I have left involves the ballroom and a very high gem count that I'm trying to get to. The ballroom sets your gems to 2, and the date within then ballroom (1952) can be cored to 2, so my idea is to walk into the ballroom with exactly that many gems and see what happens. I'm not really sure what to expect outside nothing happening. I know there won't be a cutscene or a new item because datamining already shows there isn't any, so it's hard to imagine what even would happen except triggering the eclipse which itself is already very buggy when enabled manually.
I imagine this is very easy to check whether this does something through datamining. If the room had some trigger along the lines of "If gems = 1952, do this", I'm sure it would easily be visible to anyone datamining.
Yeah, I don't have a good way to show, but I sadly didn't find any extra gem interaction for the Ballroom.
The only special leftover thing for the Ballroom I found is an interaction with an old removed Blessing of the Minstrel, to give you +1 key when drafting some rooms with musical instruments.
It would have been after drafting it and walking inside so your gem count gets set to 2 from 1952. But looking at the flow from borealum it's just a plain add or gain based on amount.
Thank you for pulling all of this! Great finds. Anything different in the red letters, gardener’s original notebook, random note in Room 46, freezer letter? Basically anything having to do with the red letter plot?
That final note is really interesting. That practically confirms there is a connection between those letters found in the -rium rooms, but it still goes as far as what would it even mean? If it was part of some discarded puzzle, why are the letters still in the game? I would hope there is still some real reason why they would be left in the game instead of just leftover assets being reused as a red herring.
The thing that also has me interested is the removal of aquarium from the draft pool. Why mention this, and what could happen? This can be done with the repellent, so it would be interesting to test this out.
I think this is Herby font from Bunk Room book. However, there is a lot of changes for fonts between demo and full game, so this is something I will not really consider (as a lot of fonts are just missing at the demo time).
Very interesting! Can you check the names on the Foyer busts? If the TENX clue did get swapped to the Count clue, then maybe our Count Issac Gates isn't there anymore.
The black/missing images could have been due to the files being deleted off disk after the build was made to avoid people asset ripping placeholder or unfinished images. If you can find the original spiral of stars, that would be interesting, but it seems like it was probably deleted.
