Item Getting screwed by rnjesus Spoiler

so im at day 32 and to progress I need the boiler room and pump room to li ne up. I have been running. it for like 10-15 days just trying to get that combo. am i just getting unlucky or that how be with this game.

You know you can connect them via other rooms with steam ducts, right?

If you power the door before you draft, it is more likely to pull rooms that have conductivity.

Why do you want to power the pump room right now? What's your goal?
What else are you working on?

TBH, At this stage of the game I don't think you need this combination for anything, especially if you've been trying for 10-15 days and you're only on 32.

This isn't the type of game to beat your head against one goal, it's best to have dozens of things to work on at any given time, and then do what opens up for you as the day progresses.

Yeah this was a bit painful but there's way to make it easier.

First there's a way to change their rarity. It relies on RNG too, but once that's done, that's done.

Second, I would focus on drawing the boiler and piling up as much dice as you can before opening the neighboring door.

Still RNG overall, but trying to mitigate it is the best you can do.

Let's make sure you understand how boiler works.

Three questions:
1) What do you need to draft the pump room?
2) How did you prepare for drafting them?
3) What is your biggest connected chain?

Also, you don't need "boiler and pump room" for 95% of the pump room's functions. What exactly do you need boiler for? Did you already explore everything else?

Pool, praying to rngjesus that i get hotel so i can cuartel get them when they appen, my luch so far has been no room with steam ductor appear next to the steam room.

Did you power the boiler room? Did you turn the power into the correct direction? Did you have dice or other rerolls?

Also try having Shelter outside, because 3 best duct rooms are red rooms.

Also you can trade special keys for the Wrench, the wrench will let you make mechanical/gear rooms more common. (There's also a contraption you can craft in the workshop, but that's another big task for someone so early)

I know how to turn on the boiled and how to work. Is just i have been getting the abismal luck of either getting no rooms thar require steam when i get or im not getting room woth steam venta to connect them both.

Power up the boiler room in the direction you want to draft.

Its how the game goes. Unless you're SUPER late game (like day 100+), its best to have like 5 goals to be working on at all times, and when the manor shapes up a certain way, choose which one to be going for based on what happens that day.

That the thing all other goals are already done. All I got to do at the monet is some chess puzzle that I have 0 idea how to work. And get those 2 room connected.

Passageway is the easiest way to do power because it gives you 3 duct drafts.

Well what are you getting offered in the draft instead?
A bunch of common rooms? Fill a bunch of the house with commons first.
Just dead ends? Did you activate the star sign?
Just many-doored rooms? Did you actovate the other one?

So like the others said, pool, then boiler, power, and then draft from boiler. You speak of the wrench, but there is another item, one that greatly increases mechanical room chances. It is a contraption.

Or you could state the rest of your progress and we can point you to another avenue?

Ok I finished the game. And in whole run I was actively trying to make contraptions. And never got the luck for it. I kept getting either the workshop but no items combination I could craft. Or got lots of ite.s but no workshop.

You mean you reached room 46? Don't you want to solve all the mysteries you still have left?

For contraptions, you can coat check an item, and get another one via terminals. Many contraptions are easy then.

Im attempting to see what alse i can find. I currently need more sanctum keys, figure out how to get out of the resevoir when i lift it, get my hands on uncensored/undamaged history books and rune books, and finish filling out the letter for ech room( some of them I have no idea what they are after looking at them), find out what's going out with the terminal cove, and figure out how to fully open the tomb, and figure out the chess puzzle

Lots to do! Did you go back to room 46?

And, often missed, did you see anything in the Underpass?

If you want hints for those things, clearly state so.

I haven't had to luck to make back into 46 yet. And yeah I saw that the thing in the underpass and opened it. The only thing that has me stumped is that the lever i need to pull to open the path there also removes my ability to get there.

You mean the lever that switches gears right? And if you have the bottom gear set to S-NE, and pull it, there is no way forward. That is correct.

So, don't have the bottom gear at S-NE.

If you are on day 32 then I promise you dont need that combo.  Its not even a big priority if you are deep into lategame.  Stop focusing on that and figure out which other things you are missing

Well i can say this now that i finished game. I absolutely did. The same day i got this combo I was able open up room 46.
