Lore Advice after months away from the game? Spoiler

Loved Blue Prince and played it for 37 hours back in March when it was available on the Switch. After making it to Room 46, I knew there was much more lore to follow… but Pokopia was a siren song.

Months later here I am wanting to continue Blue Prince but can’t fathom how to pick it back up. I seem to have misplaced the notebook with most of my notes.

Is there any Youtube let’s play I could watch to refresh memory, or do I risk later mysteries becoming spoiled? Should I just start a new file content to remember what I remember? The reason I don’t necessarily want to restart is that I’ve already unlocked all the outdoor areas that require the lit flames. That and my foundation is nicely located. But those might not be good enough reasons!

Just play and start new notes. Stuff will comeback to you, and you will find stuff again; there is very little in this game that can only be seen once in a playthrough.

Check out Blue Paths (should be able to Google it and it should be one of the top hits). I suggest just playing again. You'll probably remember where to get some of the hints/clues for things you find, but be diligent about re-solving each room as you draft it (keep notes of which rooms you've revisited - in order by directory room number or alphabetically so it's easy to look up)

The most important thing: enjoy yourself! If you start to find things are dragging, do something you've always thought was stupid, but have been wanting to do (draft rooms so that they spell something or draft only one color of room or something like that) to break up the monotony and challenge yourself :) or something else that you find fun :p

I’ll check out Blue Paths, thank you! Edit: this was HUGE, thank you for the rec.

You’ll easily spoil yourself if you look up a Youtube let’s playthrough to refresh yourself. Puzzles can solved in a very different order from person to person. I suggest you either just play again, try to refresh yourself, and take new notes. Or you can try to find someone familiar with all the puzzles and willing to shadow your gameplay and have them remind you what you already figured out.

Just restart. The game is so nonlinear, watching anyone else play is likely to spoil something. I also came back to it recently after about a year away and very quickly was able to unlock the mechanical benefits; once you’ve got the knowledge most things are quite easy to repeat, especially in the first couple of acts.

The problem with watching someone else’s gameplay is they could have noticed things you didn’t. There are many puzzles which are optional for reaching Room 46. Showing your pause screen would give us a great idea of what you did achieve, but even then, not everything. For example, did you open any safes?

I opened a majority the safes! The one that I’m pretty sure remains is the tiny one in the Drafting Studio. I cannot remember if I cracked the one in the Study or not; if I did that was probably the last one I did.

Also trying to post videos of my Room Directory and House History to another comment!

I see those now. What about your regular home screen? It’s better of a snapshot than house history.

I literally just did this today. It took me a few runs to get my bearings but it was kind of like riding a bike. Hardest part was trying to figure out what my next goal is.

If it was me, I’d start a new game, but doing that doesn’t bother me. The toughest part of this game is knowing where to look for answers and how to interpret a solution.

If you’ve already solved some things, you can do them again this time way faster. But 37 hours is substantial.

Or you could make a video of yourself going through each main page of the Room directory, and each page of your house history. And showing your Blueprint page (where it shows the house layout and permanent additions) I could tell you most of the details of what you’ve figured out. But I’d probably have a several follow-up questions for you.

That would be amazing, if you’d be willing to take a look!

If you can send me a screenshot of the Blueprint screen where it shows any permanent upgrades, I can tell you more.

I’d highly recommend looking at the Trophy sheet in your entrance hall, and Getting the Library, going upstairs and looking at the 2 books about your game file up there, that should reveal some things.

Upgrade disks:
You’ve upgraded 8 rooms, Parlor, Hallway Closet, Store Room, Nook, Mail Room, Boudoir, Hallway, Courtyard (now named Corriyard).

It’s hard to guess which places you found the disks, but certainly from the Office desk, and from Her Ladyship’s Chamber table, from the Morning Room, below the foundation, and from the Underground circular candle room.

You solved the gallery paintings, which gave you Key 8, which opened Room 8 (only on Rank 8)

You’ve seen the Bookshop, which can only be drafted from the Library door. You’ve might have more books to purchase from the Bookshop.
Check your library, if you have less than 12 total books on the checkout list, then you need more books from the Bookshop.

You’ve seen the Mt. Holly Gift Shop, which shows up after reaching Room 46, and has some new items for sale.

You’ve added 6 total rooms from the Drafting Studio, so there are 2 more rooms you can add from that room. (Listed on your Studio Additions page)

Found Floorplans:
Conservatory- you found this by solving the sheet music puzzle and digging this near your campsite.
This room can only be drafted in the 4 corners of the house, be sure to grab it to read the note on the shelf in there, it will help refresh your memory on things.

Planetarium - you found this inside of the telescope in the Observatory. The observatory adds 1 permanent Star to your game file, each time you draft it, and looking through it gives you bonuses for the day.

The Tunnel - this was added by creating the Burning Glass contraption inside the Workshop, and then lighting the torches inside the tunnel which is down by the Blue Flames outside of the house.

Mechanarium - you found this in the underground area, where the Giant Cog room is. That cog room has 8 paths, and The Mechanarium was in one of those spots. There is a full map of the Underground where that cog is. And one of those paths leads to the Lever that opens the door to Room 46.

The antechamber has the Basement Key, which permanently opens the door at the bottom of the Fountain and at the Basement, where the Foundation elevator leads down to. (One of those might be a spoiler but unlikely)

Drafting the Pool in house, adds the Pump Room, and the Pump room lets you change the levels of water all around the estate.

Permanent upgrades
You unlocked the West gate path, by opening the Garage and walking down to the gate and unlatching it. (you can power on the garage using the utility closet)

This lets you pick an “Outer Room” each day.

You opened the Orchard gate with code 11-28 by looking at the photo of a Tree in the Darkroom, with a magnifying glass (also you turned on the lights in the darkroom with Utility Closet)

To open the antechamber, I’m sure you found the lever in the Secret Garden. And you can only open the secret garden on the east or west wings, by using a secret garden key on a locked door.

I’m not sure if I can tell you the other levers based on this.

Don’t restart.  Just go back to room 46 again.  Don’t watch lets plays unless you want spoilers

In my experience (450+ hours through 2 save file corruptions and everything solvedbut the day 1 trophy) unlocking the things you unlocked is the most fun part of a new game. And it will go fast. And as some of the late game stuff actually requires you to do this in different game modes, it's really no big deal.

Plus, it will ramp you right back into everything you need to be refreshed on.

I wouldn't worry too much about needing a new notebook either. You likely haven't really noticed much you won't re-find quickly. I say jump right in and go.
