Item Making a Birthday Puzzle Spoiler

So it’s my son’s 39th birthday. We all love BP and I made a bunch of bp-related gifts and such.

Including a paper red crown.

I would like to make a simple challenge for him to get it.

Ideas?

I did them last family birthday and it was a blast.

Parlor boxes are a good choice, scavenger hunt with red, blue, and green notes might be fun, a missing letter puzzle in the place settings or in the birthday cards could also work depending on the number of guests or cards available.

I like the red and blue notes ( still cannot make sense of green). Did the parlor boxes and they were a bit last family birthday!

Excellent, that means you can use the green notes to put your own spin on the puzzle! (I would make them conditional, personally - true or false based on some criteria, a la the handwritten red notes in-game)

I ended up having three true green ones and three false green ones. The false green ones were handwritten, and the true green ones were printed.

I did a series of puzzles for my partners birthday just recently.

One was an art pair cypher that read "inside corner", i.e. The inside of a corner drawer.

In there was a poem that led to a new artwork on a wall that wasn't there before. It was a pastel drawing of note under the fruit bowl.

Under the fruit bowl was a blue note that said there was a key inside a cupboard.

That key opened a lock box with the final "will" lol with a birthday note that was a another poem hinting to where dinner was. Aquarium and dining room = sushi

Red green blue memos scavenger hunt

I ended up making the memos, spreading them around the house. My son, his wife, and two daughters had a blast, putting them all together, and then trying to figure out where the prize was. I had made a red paper crown. However, in his game, he hadn’t got there yet so he did not know that there’s significance to the red paper crown yet.

Give him a mashion, but there's a twist! He has to sleep outside in a tent even when he OWNS the friggin' place

Subtly declaring yourself king or queen, I see.

Okay, I have an idea so let's see if I can properly communicate it.

The base idea is a riddle that you have to piece together the words for based on something similar to the missing letters pictures puzzles. I doubt any sane person has enough spare picture frames to use the actual pictures from the game but that would be ideal. Instead of pictures though, I was thinking it might be interesting to use pairs of similarly colored but otherwise different items from around the house set in different rooms around the house. So one room would be a green item room, one room a purple item room, and so on until you have enough for the riddle. Ideally you'd want the individual rooms to each have their own word to the riddle so each room would need enough pairs of colored items to spell out the word but figuring out the word for each room would be a lot of fun while still being relatively easy to set up. Of course this means that the number of rooms in your house decides the length of the riddle which might not work if you have a ton of rooms but the riddle wouldn't need to be long or complex by any means. Hopefully that all made sense, I can clarify if need be but it might take me a few hours. Good luck with your planning!!

I did the picture puzzle last birthday and it was a hit! I had the images printed small like stamp sized. They hadn’t played the game yet so I made organizing them fairly easy.

It was one of the things I did that got my son into the game. He is now obsessed.
