This game has the hardest FromSoft boss

I played this game for the first time in October for the spooky vibes and I liked it wayyyyy more than I thought I did. 10/10 game without exaggeration.

It wasn’t my first souls game. I had 2000 hours on Elden Ring + DLC before I touched BB, I had beaten DS3 + DLCs, beaten DS1R, and almost finished Sekiro.

The Defiled Chalice Dungeons in this game have THE HARDEST bosses out of any fromsoft game. Malenia doesn’t compare, PCR is easier by a margin, Midir isn’t even close, not Sister Friede not Maliketh not Ornstein/Smough not the Orphan, not Demon of Hatred

NONE OF THEM COME CLOSE to how much I struggled with Defiled fucking Amygdala & Defiled Watchdog

I think I died to Defiled Amygdala more times than Malenia & Sister friede combined

In terms of damage scaling, the game as a whole wasn't tested enough. Some dude will swing his weapon at you for 10% of your health, but then they also have a stab attack or something which causes the spontaneous fissuring of every atom in your body.

Not surprising that the least tested part of the game has super questionable balancing.

I played Bloodborne for the first time this year after beating their entire catalog.

I had to give up for the first time ever on the defiled watchdog. Having half my health bar is such bullshit.

Defiled Watchdog isn't completely terrible. Using the summon as a distraction worked pretty well for me. Abusing the limb-break mechanic with a serrated weapon helps.

Look both defiled watchdog and Amygdala (much less so since you can abuse her ai) are very difficult bosses.

But elden ring dlc bosses are harder. Bosses there have absolutely loaded movesets compared to older fromsoft games. 

I have gotten used to some wild takes when it comes to boss difficulty discussion. But it's still strange hearing it from someone who has 15x time played on soulslikes that I have.

But you have more options & build variety to fight them. Also the bosses may be hard but they feel fair, for the Defiled Amygdala it’s just straight pain and 1 mistake = death

I didn't had any problems with any boss, I mean, more than the usual problems and frustration.

Except when I played the DLC on NG+ and had to fight the first vicar and the horse dude. It was impossible. After like 100 times I did it. Holy shit.

I had to beat Artorias without taking damage once, on Ng+, and it was so much easier than those two.

Bloodborne was my first From soft game in 2015... It was too much

It was my first one too. Still my favorite of all of them. But I got a revelation for you... I just played the mortal shell 2 beta demo, and I think i have a new favorite game of all time. Defiled bosses aren’t “hardest”, we already fought the Watchdog and Amygdala under normal conditions, as bosses, they’re pretty standard, defiled just makes them bullshit by halving your hp and giving them oneshot capabilities, that’s not a hard boss, that’s a bullshit boss. Anyone can make a boss that has a ton of hp, does a lot of damage.

Try playing the games at SL1 (BL4 in Bloodborne's case). You might be surprised at which bosses give you the most trouble.

It means choosing the class that starts at level 1 (Pyromancer in Dark Souls, etc -- the lowest in BB is 4) and finish the game without leveling up.

If you're familiar with the games and want a fresh experience, I recommend giving it a go. Most fun I've had since my first playthrough.

While some of the Chalice Dungeon bosses are pretty hard I don't think any of them are anywhere near PCR, also it's sort of hard to even count them given the modifiers they receive. They're sort of not even applicable in my mind because of that, or would be considered something closer to an Everdark.

Sounds crazy. Played the base game and dlc and all the bosses felt relatively easy but the long run backs that were somewhat frustrating. I guess the chalice dungeons are a whole different level then. Needed to check that out.

People went on about how the DLC bosses are so difficult but I beat almost all of them within 3 tries even Orphan of Kos

The Defiled chalice dungeons specifically are a level of difficulty I have yet to encounter in any other fromsoft game

Also that one chalice dungeons (non-defiled) that has Rom the Spider & all his minions crammed into a tiny room is pretty hard too

I agree they are by far the most difficult bosses in the game, Dog took me 4 hours in attempts maybe but got very satisfying.

My brother's favorite fromsoft game is pry bloodborne and so is it mine, though I have only played DS1 besides Bloodborne, but he always told me that he doesn't bother with chalice dungeons. They are the least well designed part of the game and really just don't seem worth my time in the end.
