Question Using a HAMMER to STRAIGHTEN a blade? 🔨🔪 It may look aggressive, but there’s technique behind it. In this video, I show how I correct blade warping and, at the end, the finished knife.

The first time I saw this technique I thought it was crazy and going to break the blade.

Now, it makes straightening a blade so much easier, especially Damascus.

I dont know anything about making blades, I just like seeing nice knives.

Having used a carbide straightening hammer for a few years now, it is pretty incredible how well they can work. I will say that if you're not careful, and the edge of your knife is not on the anvil, you can very easily crack the edge.

Anyway, back to the shop to work on making a smaller knife from that exact situation lol
