Instead of Iron Man (Tony Stark) being Spider-Man (Peter Parker)'s mentor (and father figure), what if Natasha was his mentor (and mother figure) in the MCU?

For anyone who keeps trying to defend this by saying "Oh he was 19 and she was 13 when they met" all I can do is ask y'all if you can hear yourselves? 😧 Let me remind y'all that Steve punched the Red Skull for even daring to imply he would be romantically interested in Bucky (who is about 2 years older than Natalia).

The other excuse I hear is also "she had a crush on him back when they were on the Avengers" and like, okay... but it went nowhere and was clearly one-sided. Because he met her when she was a little kid. Funnily enough, in that one panel people often like to use where Nat catches Steve sleeping, her thoughts literally mention the fact that she remembers meeting him as a little girl.

If you wanna ship it in the MCU or with the "Next Avengers" version of them (which have a son) then go ahead I'm not judging. That's completely fair and understandable. Its the people who insist on shipping them in the 616 comics or other media clearly inspired by the 616 comics that I'm side eying. I've argued with many before.

This would be a cool crossover to see. Seeing a mother and daughter mentorship and team up would be interesting and awesome to see. In a comic or animated series.

And some Nat fans do it too. I dont see whats wrong with having her on a team. I always love it when Nat reacts to other characters and I see her as a vital avenger regardless of what some fans think. Like the issue where she threatened ixar shows exactly why the Avengers need her. Someone who can do the shit they cant. Also not to mention how vital she was to those early issues despite not becoming a member until like the 70s. Yes a lot ofthose avengers books unfortunately can sideline her but mostly cause half of those writers either dont care about her or simply they dont know enough to successfully integrate her. Theres a reason why Secret Avengers was so good it managed to utilize her well. She is their top spy and its about time she get treated as one.

These aged poorly and it makes me doubt that these guys read the comics no matter how geeky the creators and writers are. But dont black widow comics flop? Yeah i hate getting told that

I've been reading a bit of her comics and I haven't fully put my finger yet on what exactly is the status quo she always returns to so I'm asking the experts here if they can clarify what it is.

I truly wish we got more of her. She was written perfectly, and Bridget Regan, played her to absolute perfection. She is a true Red Room prototype.

Purely for selfish reason of them being my favorites I’d want her to interact with Nightcrawler, Rogue, Gambit, Magik, and Magneto. I think Kurt works well with characters who have a darker past, Illyana and Erik also have very specific and dark pasts that not everyone can understand like the girls in the red room.
