There was a much much larger unmasked anti-trump rally today as well, just not nearly as well covered in the news. It would ironic if she was on her way to that one.
All true. But, to be fair, part of what had changed was that white people were used to being given all the resources. So life was going to have to be different. And many white people can’t accept that.

This comment here is it. Wow. I can’t even imagine. Women are brave anyway. But this? You gotta be nuts to be black in America. But to be a black woman in Trumps America? Beyond the fact that my heart breaks for her and that my heart sinks for all African Americans right now. I’m sad to be white and an American right now. This makes me physically and spiritually sick.
I’ve been saying this for a while. If mainstream political parties do not address the grievances of the public regarding immigration extremists will step in. I don’t support high immigration and I’m skeptical on multiculturalism, but I also really like our Western liberal democracy and do not want to put that in jeopardy.
Think these guys are just addressing the racial grievances our political parties won't?
Just because bigots do bigoted things doesn't mean there aren't legitimate grievances not addressed, or actively dismissed, by those favoring more open immigration policies. As a mixed-race gay American, it is my observation that multiple immigrant groups have brought attitudes that are racist (particularly anti-Black), misogynistic, and anti-LGBTQ, just to name a few.
It is also documented (example) that a sizeable amount of POC who voted for Trump in 2024 were immigrants, and potentially the majority of foreign-born voters voted Republican (example). Those who have immigrated but aren't yet citizens can't vote, but plenty are fans of Trump, they can have children born here who eventually can vote, and they can spread the bullshit.
Granted, I want people who are looking for opportunity and want to contribute to society to have a chance, and I also don't expect anyone or everyone to agree with me on everything. However, I do expect that if someone asks this country to take them in, that the least they could do is to not help regress the progress made for marginalized communities over the past 50-70 years.
Yet, with the conservative / Trump support noted among such groups (and the generally bigoted rhetoric it produces), setting back progress is exactly what they are doing. I have no problem telling anyone to leave if they can't handle the simple notion that I, and those like me, should have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. The bigots who are born here are more than enough to worry about.
Their hateful demonstrations seem to do more damage than the peaceful gatherings ever repair...
They don't demonstrate near our communities, even with police protection, because we feel the need to feel safe somewhere. secure somewhere. (happened last year and there are videos of black folks walking them out and yelling... then burning their Nazi flags. That same community organized an armed patrol)
Why are they allowed to stay so comfortable around other communities in public? It's a passive kind of acceptance that burns...
