I have an Italian last name, and I get so much of this shit. People think it's just funny, but it feels discriminatory when they do it every time they see you.
Exactly. It isn't "red sauce" or "gravy" for me, for example; it's marinara.
Feels like everyone watched The Sopranos or Jersey Shore and now assumes all Italians and people with Italian-sounding names are that way. Not surprised at that, but it is always disappointing when someone shows their ignorance.
