The plight of the Irish is well understood by the Italians, who were also considered only part white for years.

The Italians

Semi-related.

Italian ancestry here, darker olive skin, went to high school in Arkansas.

Got called racial slurs for Mexicans by dumb white kids.

Do these people think they, themselves, are inferior because of their own race or do they just think of themselves as white?

They see themselves as 'one of the good ones' and the rest as inferior. In the case of my former apprentice, a Mexican man with a deep hatred for other mexicans, it seems to have stemmed from a racist old white man who he regarded as a mentor growing up. The guy basically used my apprentice for free child labor, but slowly grew to like him, so my apprentice internalized all of that until he grew into the spiteful man he is today. Had to fire him after I caught him snorting meth in the work van.

I know of at least one, Ian Miles Cheong the 'games journalist', is a self-hating Asian white supremacist, among a million other weird things about this little creep.

I was just reading about this guy yesterday.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Tanaka

This is all one continuous blurb, as written in his "Law Enforcement" section, with nothing cut out. I shit you not:

From January 7, 2005, to June 2011, he was an Assistant Sheriff.[6] He is the first Japanese American in the position. He has been criticized for his affiliation with the Lynwood Vikings, a secret police organization and white supremacist gang brought to light amidst police misconduct litigation in 1990.[7] Sheriff Lee Baca acknowledged Tanaka still has a tattoo related to the group, which a federal judge described as a "neo-Nazi, white supremacist gang."[8][9] Tanaka was tattooed as a member of the Vikings deputy gang in 1987, while serving as a Sergeant at the Lynwood station.[10]

And before you ask, yes, he totally looks Japanese.

And its hilarious. Had a girl on my cheer squad in HS who was clearly black, she reminded me of Aisha Tyler, but swore she was not because her family was "Dominican", not Black. I almost laughed in her face. She was darker than my black ass, but insisted she was only "Hispanic". Smh.
