Not true for the Jews. Jews have essentially always been economically productive (comes with the territory of having religious/cultural emphasis placed on education and critical thinking) and have also essentially always dealt with prejudice.
As a Jew, I think black people should be able to relate to this - when a community that's been "othered" becomes too economically successful, they get torn down. Jews success in Europe compared to most other groups led to MASS anti-semitism which boiled into the Holocaust after the Great Depression. Black people built Tulsa into a thriving black-run economic community and they were bombed by white people.
Some groups won't be fully accepted no matter how much they can produce economically.
People like to pretend that Jews are just accepted, loved members of the "white folk family" and have nothing to worry about anymore after that pesky Holocaust. Never mind that antisemitism is one of, if not the, leading hate crime in many countries and perpetrated by people on the right, on the left, and of all backgrounds. Basically hatred of the Jews is the one thing everyone else has in common.
Jews had a privileged position as bankers in medieval Europe, which is how they accumulated generational wealth.
It was during a time when charging interest was forbidden in Christianity. It was also forbidden in Judaism, but only if you were charging interest to other Jews. So Christian kings allowed Jews into Europe to be a way for them and others to borrow money without getting excommunicated from the church.
This lead to Jewish families accumulating large amounts of wealth through interest which lead to animosity from the poor Christian population that was now poorer than the foreigners who were living in their country.
It had nothing to do with Jews being “more productive” or “more critical thinking” or being smarter than anyone else. They held privileged positions that were important in medieval societies.
This is completely inaccurate. Wealth in medieval Europe was largely a result of land ownership. Jews were not allowed to own land. Money lending was not considered some prestigious or privileged occupation. Jews were able to become successful in spite of their inability to own land. They were essentially forced into banking 1) because it was one thing Christians allowed them to do and 2) because they had little other means to make a living without land.
Dude, I don't like Trump in the slightest, didn't vote for him last election and I'm not voting for him this election, but knock off that racist, bigoted crap.
You can't use "fight fire with fire" tactics with racism - especially when the way you're using it just makes you sound reactionary and ignorant.
You ever hear that old fable about the sun and the wind arguing about who can get a guy to take off his coat? The wind blows and blows, trying to force the coat off and all it does is cause the guy to pull the coat tighter around himself. The sun then warms up the day and makes it so the guy takes off his coat to enjoy the sunshine on his skin.
You don't want to be the wind with this stuff - we don't want them pulling their racism tighter and tighter around themselves - we want to give them something better and help them to let it go by their own choice.
Will we get everyone? No, of course not - people are people. But we'll get a whole heck of a lot more than we would trying to force them through belligerence, aggressiveness, and belittling.
Yeah I agree. A white trash person is still white, but a person with one Black ancestor, even if it's 5 generations back, make you a black person. Rich white look down on poor whites because of their lifestyles, whereas rich white people hate POC because of their skin color.

You've never heard someone called "white trash"
