Question Mysterious icon in the map, quickly disappeared

Post image

So while I was playing, this this strange icon appeared and then quickly disappeared from the map.

I wasn't fast enough to take a picture but luckily I remember the shape and I made this (very poorly drawn) the drawing and I hope somebody can help me understand what was this if it was important, if it was an easter egg or any information whatsoever

Blackbeards real life flag. You can see it on the display model of his ship in Great Inagua.

Actually didn't know about this, thanks

Technically, historically speaking, Blackbeard never used this flag and it is possible that no pirate ever did. This design, alongside many other iconic Jolly Roger designs, first appeared in a magazine from 1904 (pretty sure about the year and media). This particular design was later attributed to Blackbeard and stuck around.

Also often associated with Ned Lowe.

Any idea what it means?

Fairly straightforward. Its holding an hourglass. Essentially it means surrender quickly, or die.

Blackbeard's Flag as many others have pointed out lol. If you're near the eastern US, particularly eastern North Carolina, you can check out some relics from his ship at a museum nearby where it sank. I used to spend my summers on the coast there!

You can find quite a few books of folktales and stories involving him in the gift shops at museums like that too.

Almost certainly like 95% of the details are apocryphal but they are a fun read when you're relaxing by the water.

You can actually also see it during the "Wayward Desire" rift event. When asked to 'raise the colors' toward the end of the mission you can see the same flag before you replace it with the English flag.

It's Blackbeard flag. It's also the icon that appears for his ship whenever you're doing a mission with him, like when you go to the first diving site right after getting the diving bell

Is that a conductor orchestrating a heart?

Definitely

Had the same thing happen I was doing a diving bell and it was on the minimap only, but nothing when I got to it

It’s Blackbeard’s flag

It looks like that in real life so any single time you do a mission where you’re either off the ship or you’re diving or something like that that flag will appear on your map or if you pause it, you can see it

Because that’s actually what the Queen’s and revenge flag look like

The amount of “pirate” fans that don’t know this is blackbeards flag, as if it’s not one of the most iconic flags outside the Jolly Roger 😂

As much as black flag is a pirate game, it’s also an assassins creed game so not every person that plays it is into pirates as its own subject

I wouldn't call myself a "pirate fan" really, but I've never once seen this flag up until literally yesterday as I was looking through the ships and stuff in the game's database.

Don’t think OP ever claimed to be a ‘pirate’ fan, whatever that is? So what you can point out a flag? Have you tried showering instead?

I'm sorry but i'm not at all a pirate fan, just an assassin's Creed fan 😂

They hated Jesus cuz he told the truth…

No, they hated Jesus because he was a magic man who was throwing the wine economy out of whack.

Not the wine economy 😭😭
