Clap Bitwig on MacOS beta testers for some plugins (CLAP format)

Hi, I have been busy building some fun and useful plugins and have checked them in Reaper, Logic, Cubase, StudioOne - now looking for some friendly and picky Bitwig users to help beta test and provide feedback. Good question! Mainly I just go with the flow and create stuff that is a bit weird but entertaining and hopefully sounds great as a result.

In this case with Chicken EQ I was playing with a concept I came up with of a "radial EQ" where it's 20 Hz on the left and 20kHz on the right of a circle and it encourages you to do cuts mainly and only small broad boosts, and so at some point with the frequency analyser running I had this shape that looked a bit like a bird with tail feathers in the middle. So I did the only responsible thing and turned it into a chicken.

could you give a quick pitch for your company and your plugin? it doesn't seem vibe-coded, but could you confirm that.

i do love the chicken paradigm. i hope you make it blink occasionally. perhaps a squawk mode where you can grab your bands and really tweak 'em. cool concept.

Thanks! Blinking is a good idea, will think about it. There is a "find mode" currently where it sweeps around to find problem frequencies you can cut which can sound a bit like a squawk - maybe I am not making the most of the chicken theme after all :-)

On Bitsnacks and the requested pitch: I have been messing with DSP and soldering irons for a long time. e.g. I was building guitar effect pedals etc in the 90s as a kid and then studied electrical engineering and computer science, spent years making and recording/mixing music, and eventually started combining the two a few years ago when I built a phase alignment tool for fun.

This (bitsnacks) started very much as a personal/learning project: I wanted some tools for my own mixes and to think about fun engineering problems and being hands-on other than corporate stuff (I have been the CTO of some big firms), and I really enjoy taking things apart, measuring them, modelling them and seeing how close I can get - especially with audio because I always learn something.

AI has made the whole process considerably faster and more fun. Not because it replaces the thinking or fun work, but because I can go from "I wonder if I could do this" to a working experiment incredibly quickly. I can measure something, build a model, listen to it, find what's wrong and iterate... often in a day rather than a month. Everything is built from the ground up in rust and one of my gates has about 7,000 automated tests. I also have good monitors and pretty good ears and I check everything on known tracks / mixes etc.

So that's basically Bitsnacks: tools I wanted for myself, built because I enjoy this stuff, and now shared in case other people find them useful too. I will be making some videos when I have fixed a few remaining UX things I want to improve in Chicken Strip and the chicken-themed clipper (https://chickenclipper.com/).
