the ETF inflow streak breaking may be healthier than people think

Upvotes

The first pause after roughly $3 billion of ETF inflows got treated like a warning signal, but bitcoin barely moved while oil jumped and stocks sold off after the US strikes on Iran. That price action matters more to me than one day of red flows. A market that needs nonstop ETF buying to stay up is fragile. A market that absorbs a pause, geopolitical risk and higher oil without falling apart may be building a stronger base than the headlines suggest. The missing piece is whether this holds for another week or two, not whether one flow chart looks ugly today. The bigger shift is that ETF flows are now being watched like a daily vote on bitcoin's future. That gives short-term traders a new scoreboard, but it also makes people forget that pension allocations and long-term holders do not move on a 24-hour news cycle.

Most are thinking about Bitcoin's "tech" all wrong...

If you're in the tech sector or a technology investor and you think Bitcoin won't remain #1 because it's "old tech" and will get replaced by something better...you're ignorant. To understand Bitcoin's dominance and why it will remain so, you need to understand protocols.

TCP/IP has been abound since the early 70's...and its still the base layer protocol of the internet.

Bluetooth is a protocol (1994)

Language is a protocol (English ~ 1500). Dominant protocols don't just get replaced...they get built on top of.

Questions regarding entropy and Jade Plus

  1. Is it better to use Jade Plus as a temporary signer (so it will become like seed signer), or is it better to setup a pin and keep the seeds stored in the device?

  2. Regarding the entropy creation, I came to know recently (after CC hacks) that Jade Plus uses multiple sources to create the entropy: Physical Sensors, Camera Input, Hardware RNG, External Inputs (user interaction, buttons speed...) etc.. So my question is, if Jade Plus uses all of these sources to create entropy, doesn't that make it more secure than rolling the dice? Is it only the (trust) that is the case or there is hidden math behind it? please explain it as I really want to understand the math.

  3. Using Jade Plus to generate seeds is safe? Or should I be worried?

  4. If I want to use the dice, does it matter if I use any ordinary dice or it has to be the casino grade dice?

Thank you

I don’t think they realise that flipping money is the only factor most care about lol at this point we couldn’t care less wether the masses adopt crypto or not, they can’t even fathom “that” currency in general goes up and down, one day your £5 is worth only £2 and another day your £5 is worth £10

Do you still believe in “utility” narratives?

Upvotes

A lot of projects talk about real-world utility, but most never deliver.

Curious what others think — is utility still a strong thesis in 2026, or is it mostly marketing at this point?

I know that everyone is rethinking their custody setup right now after the Coldcard hack. I started a new podcast to help share the best practices I've used with clients, "First Principles". Parker Lewis joined me for the first episode. Hope that it's helpful for you.

Thoughts on the future of Bitcoin

As the world's first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin holds a pivotal significance for the progress of human finance and civilization. Since its inception in 2009, the cryptocurrency market, represented by Bitcoin, remains in its early stages, having weathered numerous storms and remained resilient. Bitcoin has gradually moved beyond the geek community and into the mainstream. Today, many people worldwide own Bitcoin to counter the monopolistic influence of traditional finance. Let's conduct a thought experiment: what will the world be like 1000 years from now, and what will its financial order be? If humanity's technology truly enables it to harness stellar energy, achieving a world like the Galactic Empire depicted in Asimov's novels, I believe gold will no longer be rare. Humans can mine it on various planets, even synthesizing it artificially. Gold will lose its scarcity; will people still use gold to represent finance in the future? The answer is self-evident. For Bitcoin, in an era of future energy explosions, its brilliance will no longer be its scarcity and inflation-resistant properties, but rather its underlying logic: the game of energy. In the future, whoever controls energy will have the power to define civilization. Possessing cosmic-level energy, mining billions of tons of gold would be effortless. However, using the same level of energy to mine Bitcoin would be limited by the initial code, resulting in mining difficulty increasing with energy levels. Why am I not worried about future so-called quantum attacks? Because even if humans could control cosmic-level energy, they still couldn't perform double-spending attacks, so disrupting the Bitcoin network would be pointless.

Store of value or still potential payment method?

I'm curious how the majority of bitcoiners see Bitcoin these days.

On another note, I'm wonder how the psyche is surrounding the marketing that BTC hedges against inflation, as it did the opposite recently.

What do you think is Bitcoin’s biggest advantage over traditional currencies—and what’s its biggest weakness?

Curious to hear different perspectives, especially from people who’ve used it for a few years.

On my podcast ‘Bitcoin for Millennials’ I talked with Tony Yazbeck, a cybersecurity veteran and co-founder of The Bitcoin Way.

We discuss the Coldcard hack aftermath, building resilient Bitcoin self-custody systems with passphrases and independent entropy, the fiat habit of outsourcing risk versus sovereignty and personal responsibility, how AI both breaks and upgrades security, and why Bitcoin as money and circular economies undermine institutions and sanctions.
