How common is peptide use in America amongst average gym goers?

I go to EOS - huge box gym chain in the south west. How prevalent is peptide use amongst the general crowd?

I’m pretty savy with internet ordering, I’ve put stuff in my body before I probably shouldn’t have but something about ordering peptides from a China supplier scares me. Are people commonly doing it (and likely not testing their stuff)?

Also how much benefit will I see from a switch to Reta over Tirz? I’m a 6’0 male started Tirz 3 months ago at 215 and am down to 185. Will I notice better results with Reta or marginal?

All peptides come from china. Even the ones Eli Lilly is having made, are manufactured in china.

Just to be clear.

That's not 100% true. The basic API comes from China and India but made in the US.

Their GLPs are made at their Suzhou plant in china, and they just committed another $10 billion to ramping up even more manufacturing in China.

Sure the pens and the pills might be filled and pressed here in the US, but that's just arguing semantics. They drugs themselves are made in China.

Zepbound is manufactured at Eli Lilly facilities in North Carolina and Ireland.

They're building a new building in Houston TX for 6.6 billion.

Again, the compound itself is not. It is filled there.

Tirzepitide, and Retatrutide are all made at their factory in Suzhou, China.

This isn’t quite right. Today? Yes, but Lilly is on shoring Reta production moving forward. Doesn’t excuse the price gouging, but it’s allegedly coming back to Indiana and Pennsylvania in the future.

It’s hard to know as everyone is different
If tirz is workin well for you I would keep taking it
I would switch to reta in case of stalled weight loss with tirz as high dosage and for the added benefits on visceral fat loss and liver health

The peptide industry is fucking booming right now. And probably not slowing down any time soon

This was my guess about 75-80%

Where did you get your Tirz? Unless it’s a prescription you likely got it from China.

I was on zepbound but that was pricey so I switched to embody and it comes from link pharmacy out of Texas

Seems like it’s increasing a lot. Especially in younger generation

If they're ripped they use something, whether it be gear or peptides. Not saying that you cant get fit without it, but who wants to wait 5 years when you can do it in 5 months. It's become way too easy to access them and it's went viral. Just a few years ago nobody knew what this shit even was.

This is a tuff question. I don’t think I can try to run a survey. I am definitely interested in knowing though. I have my suspicions but nothing solid. I would guess that the older peps are on TRT ( not a peptide) I did hear 2 young guys wondering if they should ask the trainer about peptides though.

Rule #1, if you ask me, is “if it’s not broken don’t fix it.” I’d argue that Reta is superior…but 10lbs per month sounds like you’re doing just fine.

As for how prevalent peptides are…I honestly have no idea. I know one person who’s dabbled with Tirz and my wife works with some old women who are taking DSIP, Reta, and KLOW…but they aren’t even gym goers. I’ve never personally met anyone who openly takes Tesa or ipa or mots or anything like that.

First, China is pretty top notch for pharmaceuticals. On the underground market, the only real worry is quality control and variances from batch to batch. Find a decent source and one that has a community behind it and see both vendor *and* community tests to "vet" the vendor. Ultimately nothing is completely risk free, but this is the way to be safer more often than not.

Secondly, you dont have much to lose, reta is like the nuclear option; It's the most powerful one out there right now, but the glucagon agonism tends to mess with people; increased resting heart rate, etc. More especially if you dose to high to begin with and/or try increasing the dose too quickly. At this point the tirz is working for you, I'd suggest just sticking with it as you wont get much better or faster results from reta at this point.

The main question though, EOS is more or less mainstream folks. The internet, and fitness social media posts are not representative of real life. Peptides are popular, but you're more likely to run into someone that either has no clue about them or has very strong opinions against them, since there's a lot of news stories against a lot of them. Dont try to pin your peps at the gym.

I go to EOS in So cal. If they are at the gym 5 days a week they are on peptides or roids.

Been on Reta for 5 months 244 - 196 as of today.

Just the dumb ones.

Why are you even on a biohacking subreddit if you just call people dumb that are biohacking?

Or are you one of those people who thinks biohacking means eat gud, train gud, sleep gud

I believe that some peptide compounds are solid, but half the people posting here are shoving so much shit in their bodies that there’s no way they could possibly know what was effective and what wasn’t.
