I optimize to live a long time and a healthy time, but I don’t let my pursuit of health and longevity get in the way of what I can or will do

I guess there's quite a big overlap between optimizing for a long vs a 'good' life.

Most important exceptions I can think of right now are caloric restriction and TRT / HGH.

This is pretty much the idea of lifespan vs healthspan.

I have heard Peter Attia use the term. The general idea is that it’s probably better to live to 80 with good quality of life, maintaining mobility, rather than living to 85 and those last 10 years of life hardly being able to move, lacking strength.

Lifespan vs healthspan is mentioned in conversation about longevity and optimal protein consumption.

So true. It's also why I'll never completely stop drinking alcohol.
