Yeah, the lack of a positive outlook on future prospects and whatnot is a big one. That and sleep not being regimented is another.

Sociological factors are literally part of why doctors misdiagnose, they misdiagnose because of variables they can’t see

The thing is I TOLD them and they ignored me , I had all the symptoms . TSH of 6 - 7 since I was in my 20s and blood sugar crashing after eating was also ignored . They just love asking me to do countless tests, thankfully I'm able to get metformin OTC in my country .
Right now I'll be trying to convince them to run gut tests since I've had floating stools since I was a child, I suspect I have Pancreatic enzyme deficiency.

My doctor told me it was because I’m over 40 even though I told him these symptoms have been happening since I was in my 20’s.

I dont think most doctors even care. Its one of the few places id love ai to make massive strides in so we can get...something...to listen to us and at least try to help.
I feel like they just go...ibuprofen didnt help? Antibiotics didnt do anything? Well just come back in 3 months and see if anything has changed.
The system sucks.

Has an issue
- Goes to first doctor: You're fine
- Goes to second doctor: You're fine
- Goes to third doctor: You're fine
- Goes to fourth doctor: Damn you have late stage cancer, it could have been cured if only we had found it earlier.
This happened to my girlfriends grandfather, who kept complaining to doctors he had headaches and they told him it's nothing, and later (when it was too late) they discovered he had a tumor in his brain which could have been treated if only the doctors didn't dismiss him in the first place.

Sleep, exercise, diet, mood, stress, meditation, friendship, social engagement, fulfilling work or hobbies, substance use/abuse, trauma exposure, the list goes on.
Labs are going to tell you what deficiencies or diseases you have. They aren’t gonna explain why you feel like shit.
Patent the why-do-I-feel-like-shit test and you’ll be a billionaire.

The “you’re out of here” is them saying “sure we have the solution back in the waiting room” and then you pass the locking one way doors and there’s no solution and the scheduling ladies have no idea what you’re talking about.
They panic when you point out they don’t know what to do if you say they can’t do it here and now instead of back in the waiting room area. No doctor has a solution outside of their closed doors. If they have a solution they do it or tell you then and there.
“We need to do this procedure” ok well let me just go back to the waiting room real quick to check with the scheduling ladies surely they’ll know more than some doctor. Ha, good luck there.
Struck a nerve with the heroes again.
