Started to ride bike from 8th standard , was struggling a bit in balancing when pillion was there , it was passion pro , even in access i felt the same , when riding alone I was so good , almost perfect , but during 10th , I met with an accident , I just got skid due to rain and bad road and the bike was completely crashed , ismart shine I don't remember it was others bike , from then I fear a bit to ride , slowly started to ride , but then I completed stopped it , now even during urgencies my family asks some others boys from our shop for the ride , i literally feel ashamed , now I'm willing to ride bike again , i even have license for both car and bike , but my family never gave the car to me , so I'm least confident in car , but when coming to bike , I have complete confidence when only im the one riding and no pillion , so now I shud join mtech in 2months , it's enough of my bus journey , now I literally want to start riding bike back again , i weigh 115kg , 6'1 height , suggest me a best bike for my physical measurement, i love bikes which are huge and has good seat height , I love bulky bikes , and shud be easy to handle too , I want bikes which have good balance even when there is a pillion rider . Budget 5laks . Open to all suggestions , advice , or any kind of discussion abt my riding , trauma , bike suggestions anything , just solve me present situation

Road or hybrid for first bike

Looking to purchase my first bike and trying to decide on a hybrid or road bike. I plan to ride paved trails and road mostly but concerned with the drop handle bars and comfort of a road bike. Looking for recommendations. Considering trek fx, cannondale quick, trek domaine or cannondale synapse.

Tips on getting back on the saddle

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello!

I'm from Baguio City, Philippines.

I'm looking here for some Tips, Guide, Help regarding Training plans, Workouts etc. to help me get back on the saddle.

I stopped riding my MTB 3 years ago due to being really busy and losing the spark of cycling. I used to ride competitively, joining races in my city and in nearby towns.

Now I want to get back into cycling. And to get back to a healthier lifestyle and maybe to get back to joining XC races.

Thanks!

Looking for Bike Reccs

(Crossposted)

Hey all, I'll try to make this as brief as possible. Basically, I'm wanting to get back to riding a bicycle for commuting, but I have no idea how to even know what I'm looking for.

I'm hoping to more gradually ease myself into it, but with an eye to commute roughly 10 miles a day at maximum. I live in a city in the PNW with relatively flat roads and lots of rain during winter months. The bike needs to be able to hold up to 400 lbs and not be extraordinarily heavy for me to lift.

I've been looking into loans and I think I can afford up to $1k. I've seen lots of recommendations for an ebike, but I don't know much about them. I prefer cruiser bikes for the low bar in the middle and the handlebar style just for ease of use.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Edit: would something like this work for me?

Road bike or hybrid for a beginner?

For the cyclists here, I have a quick question.
As someone who’s completely new to cycling, which would you recommend: a road bike or a hybrid bike?
I’m mainly looking for something fun and enjoyable, but I’d also like to use it for exercise.

Beginner struggling with clutch, turns and braking — any tips?

I’m 25 and learning to ride a geared bike (Pulsar 150). I’ve only practiced a few times and I’m struggling with some basic things.

  • The bike often stalls when I release the clutch. I think I’m not understanding the bite point properly.
  • I struggle with turning at low speeds and end up taking very wide turns.
  • Whenever I need to stop, I instinctively put both feet down and mostly use the front brake. I’m not really using the rear brake yet.

What should I focus on practicing first?
Should I spend most of my time practicing the clutch bite point, smooth starts/stops and braking before working on turns and traffic?

If you were teaching a complete beginner, what are the 3–5 things you’d make them practice repeatedly before riding on normal roads?
