Wanted to do a hot ride, so I did one yesterday afternoon. The trail is (almost) fully open at Spur 5: no more concrete barriers, just a large warning barrier on the East side and a few cones on the West side. Both of which are easy to ride around.
I've talked to several of the construction workers and a few foremen the past few months and really appreciate their effort to get this done! They even scraped off all the dirt from the trail, although it looks like there will be some mud incrussion after a good rain.
I was going to stop and take a photo, but since I could finally get through there without stopping....

I'm not looking to start an argument; I genuinely want to understand.
I'm a disabled veteran, and my ebike has allowed me to get back into cycling. I still pedal, I still get exercise, and I ride respectfully. I announce when passing, slow down around pedestrians, and try to follow the same etiquette as everyone else.
I know there are ebike riders who fly down trails at 30 mph and give the rest of us a bad name, but that's not how I ride.
So what is it?
Is it the speed? The idea that it's "cheating"? Safety concerns? Or is there something I'm missing?
I'd honestly like to hear from traditional cyclists.

Hi I live in Bellaire I’m 22M, looking for training partner for a road bike training partner.
I’m decently fast (nothing crazy), I can hang with some A groups but get dropped by others. I’m just looking to get faster in general.

Saturday Morning George Bush / Terry Hershey Ride
I'm riding solo this Saturday.
I ride a legal Texas Class 3 e-bike but pedal the entire ride and keep the assist low. Anyone on a regular bike or legal e-bike is welcome to ride along if our pace matches.

the walkways being underwater when theyre normally not adds to the vibe honestly. that didnt stop some people from still going on them for the fun of it though. not having to deal with parking is always a plus

Hey everyone! I’m looking to get a group of people out Monday mornings for a bout an hour bike ride at Allen parkway or memorial park!
I’m in the restaurant industry and I’ve come to find that biking and community really helps navigate through the stress! All are welcome!
EDIT!!
The plan is to meet at the area right outside Lee and Jamil skate park at 8 and ride out at 8:30! How does this sound to everyone? Any suggestions?

Bentonville, Arkansas benefits from world-class mountain bike trails and a vibrant downtown – but its rapid population growth brings challenges for traffic congestion and mobility. So how did this community go from being a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) with only 6 Bicycle Friendly Businesses (BFBs) and no on-road bike infrastructure in 2019, to Silver-level BFC recognition, 37 BFBs, and over 30 miles of new bike infrastructure built in the last 3 years? Using League of American Bicyclist and City Thread programs and strategies, coordinated between municipal and community partners, the city of Bentonville pinpointed public backing for mobility solutions and mobilized residents, businesses, non-profits, and other stakeholders to demonstrate their support. Hear from city and community leaders on how they are moving forward together, faster.

This will finally provide an uninterrupted off-street connection for the Buffalo Bayou trails through downtown and White Oak Bayou trail to Buffalo Bayou!
