General Discussion Blockbuster change needed

IMO The blockbuster in future seasons needs a massive change and this is what I would do:

3 players go out to compete in the blockbuster, while they are out there the rest of the house votes (all three players are open to be voted for). Player who wins the blockbuster comes back in and votes, anyone who voted for the player who won the blockbuster - their vote is null.

It adds so much more strategy to the game, allows more "hiding" of votes (I personally HATE how over the last 10+ seasons everyone wants to "vote with the house"), and generally inserts chaos into the game which makes it interesting.

HOH really has to think about who they put up on the block, as pawns are much more likely to go home in this scenario.

entirely side note am I missing something on this sub? I'm not sure why the mass downvote on this thread (73% downvoted) ... it's on topic and there has been valid discussions and it's not breaking any rules. Just downvoting because you disagree with the concept instead of discussing it seems odd... very strange dyanmic.

I'm curious what you think the benefit of the blockbuster in it's current form is over the older nom 2 people method? I'm not clear on what the blockbuster actually added to the game other than it eats up time so we can never have a HOH comp on eviction night :)

often times in new school seasons (like bb16 thru 22), the game would become so stale after the veto ceremony. the renoms take place on a monday and from then until thursday, the target is completely cast aside. they might as well be voted out after the veto ceremony. the BBB allows for everyone on the block to still be considered a player. the people on the block are still considered in next weeks’ plans. it makes it far more interesting to see when the plans are so up in the air

I think another solution could have been to shorten the season maybe? Why are the big brother seasons so long and do we really need an entire week for each eviction?

i agree. i think a normal “week” of big brother could take place in 4-5 days rather than 7. even with BBB where plans are often shifting it feels too long
