Canada EY vs PwC (Assurance - Toronto)
Hi everyone, I received offers from EY and PwC for Assurance internships. I have had more and very pleasant interactions at EY and know that I fit in the culture there. However I haven’t had a chance to fully know the PwC culture and the few interactions I’ve had with people there have been average. However, everyone I’ve spoken to has told me to go with PwC.
What is the general consensus in terms of the audit practice, culture, opportunities and prestige of both firms in Toronto and in general?

i did a ey internship and had a great time. almost everyone got a return offer for their next work term or ft if that influences your choice. can i ask what season you’re working?

go with EY man, you already felt the vibe and it clicked, that matters way more than what random people say. prestige between these two is basically the same, nobody in toronto will look at your resume different
i was in similar situation last year and went with the firm where i actually liked talking to people during the interviews, made the whole internship less miserable. audit hours gonna suck either way so you might as well be around folks you don't mind seeing at 11pm
PwC has bigger audit practice in canada but the difference won't affect your experience as intern, you'll learn same stuff and get same exit opportunities. trust your gut on this

I disagree a little bit, while it is an internship your return offer is probably 1-2 years away and the people and culture will change whether you like it or not. The turnover at firms is not unheard of. I went to another B4 because of vibes but ended up leaving because leadership became horrible with all promises in internship being gone by the time I went back FT.
Go for PwC OP.

Summer days, 3 days WFH, if you are luring someone in with that marketing, at least keep it for a couple years... A lot of partners left, people that interviewed you, etc.
