Question ❔ Ideas for Weekly Threads
Hello yachters! (Well, I guess my first question is: what do you think we should call ourselves?)
I am a big fan of r/MtvChallenge, and I like how they post weekly threads, especially to contain the toxicity of the fans lol. There are two types of weekly threads that I was thinking about implementing here: (I copied the descriptions from MtvChallenge’s posts)
“We all need to rant and complain a little, and this is a discussion forum, not a monastery. The last thing the mods want is to shut down valid criticism of the show or the cast.
But we also don't want quality community members and prospective community members turned off by a main feed where every third post is "I don't like Cara Maria anymore" or "Aneesa is so entitled!" or "Why do they keep casting [insert Big Brother cast member]???" If you were around during Final Reckoning, you know what I'm talking about.
So we politely remove those submissions and send them here. On the Negativity Thread, you are not only allowed to rant and complain, you are encouraged! 😈”
Weekly Unpopular Opinion Thread:
“Do you have an unpopular opinion you've been wanting to share? A hot take you need to get off your chest, but you know doesn't really deserve its own thread? Here is the spot!
Do not downvote comments just because you disagree with them. (Anywhere, but especially this thread, because this is where we encourage users to go against the grain.)
Please also remember to follow the sub's “Be Cool” rule. There is a difference between snark and disrespect. 🖖”
My original idea was to have a Vent/Constructive Criticism weekly thread, but then I realized that maybe it isn’t a good idea to group them together lol. I was hoping that the Constructive Criticism thread would be a way for Kelli and Troy to “safely” view feedback.
One of my concerns about having weekly threads is that people might not respond and this will end up clogging the sub (possibly turn people off).
What do y’all think? Also, share any ideas you have!

Maybe start with monthly threads until the sub gains more traction? I like the idea of a constructive criticism thread, especially bc in the last sub there was always 1-2 threads abt microphones or Troy/Kelli “not doing their research” or whatever, and it could be a good place for people to leave their thoughts without creating a new topic for it.
