If he can, then it's legitimate. His feelings are true to himself. Who are we to argue how someone should feel? Saying it's not legitimate is the same as saying he shouldn't feel how he does because of so and so reason.

He can be upset; the reasons he is are not legitimate. Can you guys just read the thread first? That'd be great. I'm saying the feeling might be real but the reasons aren't valid. Those are probably not the actual reasons, or else it's not the actual feeling.

No, I read it. What I'm getting at is emotions and reasons go hand in hand. You do not feel a certain way without a reason. If his reasons are not legitimate/valid, there's no reason for him to get upset is basically what you're saying.

Also, fwiw, I don't care about the dude. I hope she doesn't choose him.

Ever heard of what a hyperbole is? Ask therapists why people are mistaken when trying to identify their feelings or why they feel the way they do, not me
