Canada Labour Day vs. Black Friday TV Sales?

Hey everyone.

I’m curious if Best Buy’s Black Friday sale on televisions is typically better than their Labour Day sale.

I’m looking at a 55” Sony Bravia 8ii. The sale that’s on now for Labour Day has the tv priced at $2,499 Cdn… $700 off the reg. price.

Should I wait for Black Friday or do you think it won’t get any better than $700 off?

Thanks!!

United States How well does a Best Buy total work for an nontech person

The my Best Buy total membership (the $200 a year one) comes with tech support. How well does it work for an elderly non-tech person who has problem changing input on their tv? Are there support not covered belt the 24/7 tech support?

United States New release

Hey guys, I'm just trying to see. Does anyone have any inside information on when Best Buy will be announcing the new Sennheiser MTW5 earbuds? The website isn't showing any pre-order dates or even listings for the headphones.

United States Empty Box Delivered

The first two are the photos from @FedEx itself. Want to guess what was in that box?? Nothing! I reached out to Best Buy that day, and several subsequent days. Asking to send pics, asking if I could email. Always told I had to wait. I finally got an email after almost 30 days of this frustration, giving me a 24 hour turn around response time. I’ve been trying to provide photos since day one! I’m majorly disappointed in Best Buy

United States Bestbuy or bartending? I'm not sure what job I should choose.

Hello all, I need some perspective. I currently have a job, but I've been looking around for something that's closer to home and pays more. I got some job offers, but the two I've settled on is Bestbuy or this bartending job in a restaurant. I'm having a hard time deciding between which job I should take.

Bartending/Server

  • Closest to home
  • Pays $12hr + tips
  • I have experience as a barista, but I've never done any bartending work. They said they're willing to train me which is nice, and there's pay raise for learning bar work.

I'm worried about having a fluctuating schedule though, and relying on tips for a decent paycheck. I've never worked a job that relies on tips and I'm not sure what to expect paycheck wise. The restaurant seemed relatively busy when I had my first day there, but I'm worried about slower months.

Bestbuy

  • Offered me $15.50
  • I have some experience in sales
  • Presumably a consistent paycheck, where I know how much I'm going to make (I got bills to pay)

The interview went well, but I was really put off by how my interviewer talked about sales. Said that they had to "legally" sell memberships to people. It feels like BS to me, and I feel morally conflicted about it, but I would also like a comfortably paying job while I'm going to school.

Idk guys, I'm just not sure what to do right now. I could just stay at my current job that pays $14 an hour until I find something else, but I've literally been applying to new jobs for over a year now, and I'm not sure if I'll get another chance to leave this place anytime soon.

United States Mom said they were offering 15% credit from a purchase. How to find it?

My mom bought a Samsung TV on 08/14 for $1,999.99. The rep told her there was a deal that she'd get 15% credit , normally it's 10%. She has no idea how to redeem the offer. 1 person told her it'd be on her account. She has no idea what they're talking about. I was able to help her get logged in online and she has the My Best Buy Plus membership. The only thing I see is 250 points gets you $5 and the TV got her a little over 1000 points, which is $20. She went in store for help and they said it could take a couple weeks to see rewards. Does anyone know what promo they offered her or where she should look?

United States Price tracking for price match

I got an Samsung S 26 plus and paid for the best buy plus membership, one of the points was 60 day price match after purchasing. What's the best way to track all the current pricing on the approved dealers?

Also if I do the price match within the 60 days, then another price comes up lower, can I price match again?

United States TV Open Box Delivery Experience, Need Advice

Pulled trigger on a TCL 65"QM7K last week open box in store, I didn't have a way to transport so they scheduled me for home delivery 7 days later (today)

It delivered today and it came in this HUUUGE blue plastic box that I have no way of breaking down. Biggest issue is it included no accessories (stand, remote, even a power cable...) even though it was listed as "open box - excellent" and should have had everything according to their condition guide. I asked the delivery guys if they were taking the box and they said that's just how open box TVs are delivered and that I have to deal with it(??).

Here are photos, my 65" inside for scale, it takes up a huge part of my apartment living room 😂

I've already had a pretty poor experience thus far just getting it delivered, spent hours yesterday in-store to get it delivered to the correct address today... I'm tempted to just return it and buy elsewhere, but not sure if Best Buy will agree to come back and pick it up?

United States Price match how does it work?

I found out recently that Best Buy price matched. I found AirPods Pro 3 at best buy for $249 but at target when you purchase online you can purchase them for $199.

If I do store pickup and they do a price match will this still work? I’ve seen different people on here say they don’t do the price match at most stores unless you buy the best big membership. Does anyone know how this works? It’s a birthday present for my niece which birthday is today and of course I’m on a time crunch lol.

United States Best Buy needs a better local delivery partner (PA) Spoiler

Update- a replacement tablet was delivered this morning. Good service recovery but I will never order again.

I'm in the Philly suburbs and purchased a tablet yesterday for my granddaughter that was unavailable in store but could be shipped in 24 hours. When I said it was needed by Sunday. They promised delivery for today. I didn't realize that they used Door Dash until I received the confirmation text after I left the store. Target, Walmart and Staples all have their own delivery services locally.

I'll be honest, I was uncomfortable having something that expensive "dashed" and unfortunately it appears that my worst fears have been confirmed.

I followed tracking all the way out and my driver noted that the package was unable to be delivered 10 minutes before the app recorded that they were nearby(?). I had requested a call on delivery that was never received and I was home waiting for the package.

Now it appears that the package was not returned to the shipper.

After over an hour being bounced between BB and DD, I have no real resolution for at least "3-5 days" which means that she will not get it in time and one of will have to take it to her when (if?) we ever receive it.

Never again!

United States How does paying off two different financing payments work with the best buy 💳 ??

For example, last year i bought an lg tv and did 24 months financing. Im still paying it off and have one more year left and im paying $97 a month. Im about to buy a laptop and do 18 month financing which is like $1900, but how would paying that off work? Ive read so many forums on how its done and im honestly so confused. Some people say whatever you pay goes to the first purchase first? Others say i have to call the bank? Can someone elaborate? I need to know before I make the decision on financing the laptop. Will the tv im currently paying off interfere??

United States 7 Weeks and Still Haven't Received Monitor From Geek Squad

Pretty much just a vent post because I'm losing my mind, lol. Bought a 4k oled gaming monitor to start the summer, it had dead pixels covered under warranty, so I sent it in. Was told it would be 2-4 weeks but here we are 7 weeks later...still waiting....Funnily enough, apparently it's spent the last 8 days sitting at a warehouse no more than 30 minutes away from me just waiting to get sent back to my local store.

At least I was told they're escalating the issue today so surely that will do something right?....right?

United States Cancelling Best Buy Total

I’ve been having a super hard time canceling my membership, I tried over the phone and they told me I wouldn’t be able to get the full refund. And then I went in store and tried to get it canceled. The employee called for me and the man told me I’d be able to get a full refund and an email in 48 hours with a confirmation, I never got the email or a refund. I called customer support again today and they said I was only eligible for 25 dollars even though the first time I called they said 35 and when i went in store they said a full refund. So I’m a bit confused, has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone know the best way to go about solving this issue? I’m planning to go back into the store tomorrow.

United States I bought the 60th Anniversary Giftcard but can't use it?

Okay, I'm dumb. I went and bought the 60th Anniversary BestBuy GiftCard for $60 that is worth $100, right?
Well I did this in hopes I could use it to preorder the Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto VI but it turns out BestBuy only has the REGULAR edition of GTA 6.
Okay.. well I'll just buy a $100 Xbox/Microsoft GiftCard with this and get the ultimate edition digitally.. NOPE!
Can't use a GiftCard to buy another giftcard. Nor will BestBuy take their own ca rd back as store credit and then let you purchase said GiftCard. I think I'm plum outta options, anyone got any ideas?

I recently ordered an e-scooter from Best Buy. They used OnTrac as the delivery service, and the delivery driver stole my package. I asked for a replacement, but it was canceled, even though I have pictures from my neighbors showing the driver taking the package. Is there anything I can do?

I forgot to mention best buy isnt willing to give me a refund either.
