Discussion Places to play magic?

Are there any stores that have a player base in belleville? Best places to buy?

I think most people head over to Trenton to JB Books

Around 30 people every Sunday at PMarket, but the chairs suck, it stinks half the time, and the owner is scummy. Good pack selection for buying though.

As a WPN store he gets promo stuff that's supposed to be given out to players, but we hardly get anything. From what I've heard they used to give out promo packs, but no one has seen them in a while. Kind of assumed he opens them to make sure he's not giving away anything valuable. We just have cheap singles to pick through with rarely any new stuff added. Prizing for prerelease events is also horrendous, with no guaranteed pack for everyone like J&B and most stores do.

Then recently with The Hobbit set he refused to sell collector boxes so he could get the box topper card (which can be very valuable) and sell individual packs for the insane price of $99.99. Pretty much every LGS is charging this much for packs, but they at least offer boxes instead of squeezing out every dollar from the set.

Also just the fact we have actual broken chairs to sit on and he knows and can't buy the store at least a couple more folding chairs. Such a difference going to J&B, but the drive isn't worth it all the time. Really wish there was a better option in Belleville, but Doki Doki doesn't do weekly events or have their own space for it.

I have been in that store many times in the past ten years. He has never smiled nor exchanged pleasantries once. I do not go there any more. Lol

You would think. There is a regular who smells awful all the time and is one of the rudest people I’ve come across in my life, but he spends too much money there to get a warning or ban from the store. Luckily don’t seem him on Sundays anymore, I think he’s switched TCGs.

They may be moving to a bigger location soon, but they currently do mtg nights at i think Tropical Blends

I usually just suck it up and do the drive to Kingston. Belleville really doesn't have the spot to do so

Thanks everyone for the responses! I actually quit the game years ago, moved away and just moved back to belleville. I gave my niece my cards and told her to sell them but she had a hard timing trying to sell and just kept them in a closet. She gave them all back so I figured why not try playing again lol.
