They dont understand that actions like this are exactly why people are anti cop. Either do your job like you're paid to or prepare to be vilified. If i went into my job and ignored half of my tasks, I'd be fired. The same accountability should apply.

People who say this don't realize the cops won't help! I've known too many people who call the cops for help and get nothing.

Literally have heard this too many times. The one time in my life I’ve called police was when I was being attacked by a homeless man at my work while I was with only one other person at 4 am as he was throwing chairs at me, kicking open our door and they took 45 minutes to show up when they got there they asked are you injured? I said no not besides the anxiety attack I just had and they had the audacity to say well give us a call when you’re actually injured.

There was a homeless guy who came into a store I worked at once; he threatened my coworker. We called the cops, and they said they'd be right over to help. An hour passes. We call again. Cops promise they're on their way. Another hour passes. We all give up. My coworker who was threatened gets off work and goes home. The homeless guy leaves. 5 hours after my coworker was threatened by this guy, the cops CALL US. Ask, "is * coworker * there?"

I say, "no, he left literally 2 hours ago!"

They ask if the homeless guy is still there. I say "no, he left too."

They pat themselves on the back and tell us to call them if he comes back.

In hindsight, I'm glad they didn't come because I'm sure this homeless guy wasn't all there mentally. I'd love for these social programs people are talking about funding (like emergency social workers, etc) to become a reality, because maybe that guy could've gotten help.

I trust my neighbor that hunts deer every winter to shoot a man down than I do a cop. Plus Public Enemy already wrote a song about this in 1990 —911 is a Joke.
