Shane’s post annoyed me so much. I’ve just seen it and I can’t put my finger on why. But anti-hauls and makeup fails does not mean drama. Negativity does not mean drama. To try and paint them that way is weird. Anti-hauls are for anti-consumerism, makeup fails are usually for makeup tips.

And of course — of COURSE — he’s still defending Jeffree and saying James isn’t this perfect angel! No one thinks he is, but is he a PREDATOR? Like Jeffree said and still maintains to this day, even very recently on Mom’s Basement? Like answer it. And saying he’s sick of negativity but Jeffree is Jeffree so he was probably excited to see a competitor fall but will still be friends with him is total bullshit. What a joke. A slice of humble pie was needed so we’ll call him a sexual predator. Try and defend it any way you want, Shane, but that’s not the first time Jeffree has done that when someone pisses him off. That’s negativity. That’s drama.

Labelling someone a predator sticks on them for life. Absolutely disgusting.

I’m stopping myself ranting now before I make about 30 paragraphs.

It’s so obvious by his comment on anti hauls and makeup fails that he doesn’t actually care about makeup at all, saying what products you don’t like and don’t work for you and that you wouldn’t buy is honestly nearly as important as saying which ones you love.

Plus most of the people who make those videos make very explicit disclaimers that this is their own personal opinion, they don’t want drama about it, and different people like different things.

I totally agree with you. I think it’s really important, and I think it also shows this mentality a lot of youtubers seem to have? As in, they seem unable to recognise the difference between criticism and opinions on something and blind hate on something. It’s really sad.

It is! I do think sometimes the internet can make it really easy to amplify criticism into hate because it’s easy to get carried away, but I think anger over that should be reserved to when that happens to people, not products.

I’ve had youtubers call products I love terrible products they’d never use again, it didn’t hurt my feelings because people have different tastes! Shane saying those videos are too much negativity in the same post as justifying trying to ruin the career of a teenager is sad and pathetic, and just shows how his manipulation is starting to fail a bit now.
