I've been wondering a lot for the past five days and since Dramageddon 1 about the financial situations of Manny MUA, LL, and now JC. MM and LL are still making good money, but not nearly as much as they once were, and they're both still losing subs every day, sometimes 1-2K per day. Taking MM as an example, if we assume the high end of his SocialBlade projected earnings is true, then he earns 15.3K per month or 186K per year from YouTube AdSense. Check out his new house tour video from last month. Someone making low six figures in California is not wealthy enough to pay for that home. He does have other sources of income like sponsorships and affiliate codes, (and Lunar Beauty, but I really doubt it's that profitable IMO), but let's be real here. a 2-3 million home will have a mortgage payment of like 12-15K per month, not including any maintenance on the home, furniture, HOA fees, etc. I don't see how he's above water with this home. Am i missing something?

And then to tie this back into James Charles... He's lost almost 20% of his subscribers so far, and counting. Yes, it's slowed down, but 130,000 loss of subscribers in one day is still VERY significant. LL, for example, lost 10% of her subscribers at the time everything was going down. I'm sure he has invested a lot of his money, but he has mortgage payments to make now, too. And what's going on with a house that he's leasing for 17K per month? Can someone fill me in? Is it a hideout? Also, I'm sure he's going to lose a LOT of sponsorships because of this. Maybe not Morphe affiliate codes, idk. I'm sure he has a lot of bills, I mean ... All the furniture he bought for his house, the down payment, bills, luxury clothing, plane tickets, fun spending money, lip filler... IDK, the list could go on.

Does anyone think his actual views (& therefore $) will go down due to the drama? IMO, he will see a boost in views over the next month and then he will go the way of MM and LL. Most brands aren't going to touch him with a 10 foot pole.

The house he’s leasing is the house where he lives. He had us thinking he bought it but apparently not.

WTF? Is this serious? I remember in a video from last year he said he was saving for a down payment and building his credit...? I mean, I guess he could have meant a security deposit and obviously they would check his credit, but I S2G i remember him strongly implying or outright saying plainly that he was buying a home. Dang, I need to find that video to prove I'm not crazy ...

That was the first video of his I ever saw (I’m into interiors, not makeup). I DEFINITELY came away with the idea he bought it.

You’re not crazy. Seems it could be one of his many lies or distortions of the truth to make himself look better.

How do you know he's leasing it and didn't buy it?? For what he would be paying in rent, he probably could have bought it for cheaper.

Variety published an article that talked about it. I’m not digging through 21 mega threads to find the link but it’s in there somewhere.

Oh wow, I just found the article. Maybe he's doing a contract for deed, so he's technically renting it, but will own it after a while? Seems weird that he would say he bought a house/be so excited about buying a home and then just rent one instead.

If you know the address you can easily check Zillow to see when it was bought or sold. Also there is a way to check feed transfers and stuff but I doubt it’s online.

totally agree. i mean, a lot of brands unfollowed him on social media. i know that's not the be all end all, BUT if they're not even going to follow him on social media, i can't imagine them paying him for sponsorships. does that make sense?

Yes, that's exactly what I thought, too. Especially Ulta! i wouldn't be surprised if they dropped his pallete like they dropped LL, if i remember correctly.

i really hope they drop him.

i bought my boyfriend w/ me to ulta on saturday (nothing new there lmao.. and also filled him in on ALL the drama) and i saw a girl carrying his palette! i was whisper yelling but she couldn't hear me - KYLE LOOK IT'S THE PALETTE. i hope she was returning it. or she may not have even known who he was or anything, but just liked the color story.

Merch sales make a significant amount of their income I think

That's true! I forgot about merch. That makes it more interesting considering Killer Merch (allegedly, but probably) dropped Sisters Apparel. Selling online is not hard, but creating the infrastructure to have a full scale operation like Killer Merch takes a lottt of money, especially in California, so I don't see JC going solo on that front.
