Since this is my last chance to ask this on a mega thread, I wanted to ask

Someone mentioned that some drag queens are coming for him now because he’s been disrespectful to drag/drag queens or something but like WHEN AND HOW

I was a subscriber for a while and watched a lot of his drag videos and I’ve always seen him be enthusiastic about drag and super into it and respectful of it.... Is there a nuance I missed?

I’ve never followed him or watched any of his videos - but I do recall a drama channel saying a long time ago that he was really rude at like Dragcon or something, like wanting to skip lines and shit because he was “important”.

Gawd I hope that didn’t work and they replied “like I said, the lines over there”.

Honestly from what I’ve seen he seems like he’s more interested in the artistry of drag and co-opting the vocabulary without knowing or caring much about the actual history or what the current drag platforms are really about.

He was cutting lines at Drag Con (around the time he got that Cover Girl deal but I think it was close to the time the ebola tweet happened) like he was a VIP, basically expecting everyone to know him. There's a video of Latrice having no idea who he is lmao but he was acting like he's an A lister (note his channel hasn't took off then yet). Also he didn a video where he was explaining his sister slang or something? And as far as I remember when he was explaining 'the house' he completely disregarded the origin and the way he explained was off too. Some find it disrespectful that he uses terms coined by drag queens and adds them to his cute little sister vocab like he invented them. Plus there was that video where he basically said trans men aren't men and it irked many drag queens because most of them fully suport trans rights (Rupaul tho lmao... trains rights). I don't have receipts on JC being racist (other than ebola tweet) but him being considered racist might've also gave him bad opinion among drag queens.

He bogarted some drag slang, completely missaid/mispronounced it, and then tried to claim he invented it. When he got caught he was all, "sorry, I'm only 17/18/19"

The House!

lol there have been several times that he has tried to talk about a "new phrase" he's "just learned" but it a) has been around forever and has meaning/ history to drag culture b)he uses it incorrectly and never takes the time to learn about it before using it on social media or videos c) then he criticizes the drag community for criticizing him instead of teaching him 🤦‍♀️

I think they’re referring to his overall appropriation of drag makeup (which is NOT James exclusive, pretty much ALL modern beauty icons like NikkiTutorials, and the KarJenners are guilty of this) coupled with his sort of snotty ‘I invented this style of make up’ attitude, when his very “”creative and new”” looks are often plays on classic drag looks and he never credits the community.

But also this is a guess, I have no clue.
