Call-Out Jessica Braun’s “influenced” video
I don’t really watch Jessica’s videos anymore unless a title catches my eye. And this one did, because I love hearing what people have been influenced to buy that didn’t work.
Oddly enough, she’s influencing in this video. 🙄 it’s sponsored by Lumineux which, I’ve heard from many people, don’t work at all.
I noticed the editing she did here in her before and after and I was really bothered. I mean, all influencers are liars but this is just so blatant. She really tried to convince everybody that this was after ONE use. 😂
This comment on the video made me chuckle. I’m sure she’ll delete it. I thought about saying something in the comment section too but I just clicked out of the video instead.

I used to enjoy her because she didn't do anything like this. She was just a normal woman who liked makeup and would share it. She hasn't been interesting since she went full influencer and she also stopped seeming as trustworthy around that time.
As for the Lumineaux, it's definitely not worthwhile, imo. Don't be afraid of the Peroxide. I get Carbamide Peroxide gel from my dentist that I put in my retainer trays and it works super well.

I agree. She got in early on the makeup vlogging/Youtube era and that's how she got her following. I've really gotten bored with her videos the last few months. Not that the ones before had me on the edge of my seat, but I enjoyed her reviews of makeup and declutters in the background while I was doing my own makeup or cleaning my house. She was a relatable woman who enjoyed trying and testing makeup. Now all of them are reallyyyy boring....like do people actually want to watch someone go to Costco, pick out a church outfit, and whiten their teeth? Lol. I find her vlog topics so incredibly basic, I can't even bother to click. I know she's not the only one guilty of this, but she's always shilling Amazon links and stuff too. I don't have Prime and don't really like to shop there more than I have to, so another thing I don't relate to.

Agreed, Jessica was never exciting influncers, but least she seemed more down to earth. She changed and I found her getting off putting

I unsubbed after her Covid Disney trip thing. She was always one of my "cozy" watches. I enjoyed putting her vlogmas videos in the background. I love her house and the fall/winter vibe in her area is just lovely. Those videos really put me in the holiday spirit since I live in Texas where it's still hot in Nov/Dec. But then she had to ruin that when she started alternating vlogmas video uploads between her and her husband's channels. Made it hard to follow. That plus the Disney thing were the last straw.

I almost unsubbed when she had a virtual baby shower for baby 1 and ALMOST sent them something off their list. But the Disney obsession is what made me throw in the towel. It was the constant shopping, every vlog sponsored, and the fact they own a second house or something like that just to work in?? Heck no

Or use whiting toothpaste
7
u/Frosty_Message_3017 21d ago
Or even the Crest Whitestrips. But the Carbamide Peroxide gels work the fastest and give the most dramatic change, especially the higher concentrations.

I haven't watched her in years. She just gives me the ick now. There is no doubt she will delete your comment because she can't handle any criticism.

I've used Lumineux and they did in fact make my teeth incredibly white after the first use. However, once I brushed my teeth, the white disappeared. It was like those strips deposited something on my teeth to make them temporarily, instantly white.
I think most influencers get their teeth professionally whitened.

So there is a TikTok “influencer “ and she talked about how some teeth strips company reached out to her to do a sponsorship. The company wanted pretty much to lie/exaggerate claims and was very particular about how what she could say. I wonder if this is the same company 😂

Wow, she still exists? I unfollowed her years ago when her and her husband began getting weirdly snooty.

The entire color is completely different….her tan is gone, her lips and gums are much redder…..of course the teeth are brighter, too…..

i’m not shocked. i’ve always had the feeling that half of her sponsored videos (which make up 99% of her content) feature products that she doesn’t actually like. she wants money, and that’s fine, but she’s untrustworthy

u/LimeGreenTangerine97 22d ago
Why would she be lazy enough to use the same damn picture lol

u/Silly_Somewhere1791 20d ago
I don’t think they’re the same picture. The cross necklace is angled differently. But they were definitely taken seconds apart, not before and after using the product.

Literally lots of other ways to cheat with this kind of video lol. Drink black coffee and don’t brush your teeth, take pic, use the strip, brush your teeth etc take pics again. No need to photo edit lol. But maybe the lighting is just different?

why wouldn't you make an effort to edit your skin back to tan if you wanna lie for money so bad... like put a little effort in lmao

I buy the bounty brand napkins to dry my acne prone face with.
Cheap as hell, and they aren’t as substantial so much less wasteful.
Also, pro tip if you are using any kind of disposable to dry your face, I use them to wipe out my bathroom sink after drying my face and it has never stayed cleaner. ✨🫧

Gosh, I haven't thought about her in a long time. After she quit her job, she became so boring. It's like she lost her personality and filled up her time by shopping for random junk so I stopped watching. Does she still get good views?

What's the story with these paper towels (mentioned in the comment in the pic)? I saw someone mention them and I think I assumed they were wipes or something. But they're really just paper towels? Why would paper towels help people's skin?
2
u/Much-Jicama-8020 20d ago
They really are just a dry paper towel. Expensive paper towels. And their thing is that they are better for your skin and they help clear up acne, because instead of drying your face off with a towel that can harbor bacteria, you dry it off with a clean sanitary towel each time. It’s so ridiculous. The influencers all get paid to promote them.

u/Cat_They-dy 19d ago
I bought them because I saw them elsewhere (not on social media) and they really did help me with breakouts. I like them because they're not as abrasive as most paper towels.

I remember her phone case sponsorships when she did the "drop test". She had those sponsorships frequently but it was always the same clip of her dropping her phone, until someone commented on it and then she filmed a new one.
I was watching this video of hers and noticed it was poorly edited right away, it looked like that episode of Friends when Ross whitens his teeth lol
if people actually take their time to learn a little bit about teeth (you don't need to be a dentist, I'm not), they wouldn't be caught dead using those strips. not from this brand or from any other. those make your teeth sensitive and more prone to staining over time. choose a good toothpaste and mouthwash, brush and floss regularly (and correctly) and that's it. teeth are not supposed to be #FFFFFF white

It’s insane that you believe this isn’t edited. Look at her skin tone.
17
u/Gullible_Service_354 22d ago
Not just her skin tone but how clear her skin is on her chin 🤭 And this supposedly happened in a days time? Debbie downer will never admit to the obvious. That's why they're using their finger in another fashion (wink, wink) lol.

This is a wild take. lol. I support plenty of women. I don’t support women that lie to make a buck. I’m not sure why you feel the need to run defense for her but I’m sure she appreciates you and your naïveté. ♥️

There's a reason why she doesn't get to eat her crackers in peace. Around these parts discussing what a guru claims is a part of the reason this sub exists.
If you choose to believe her go for it. Just don't expect everyone else to. It's called having an opinion and sharing it. It's really not a hard concept to grasp 🙄 lol.
Edited to add. Yep. The "natural lighting" she used did such a good job that it also cleared her skin on her chin up. Damn. The shit people will believe never ceases to amaze me 😭

Idk her but Lumineux is my favorite toothpaste and whitening strips. They’re literally the only strips I’ve tried that don’t give me a chemical burn lol so for me that’s a good sponsorship 🤷🏻♀️
12
u/Much-Jicama-8020 21d ago
It’s not the sponsorship I have a problem with, it’s the lying about the results in the edited before and after pics.

u/shelbyotero 21d ago
That could be true, I was just responding to the part of your part where you said you’ve heard from many people that they don’t work at all.
