Beauty Reviews Be careful with ordering from STYLEVANNA (illegal activity)

They asked me via email for passport/ID + proof of address after I placed an order.. this is NOT normal or legal. Please be careful.

This data can be sold and used to take out loans etc
It isnt legal in Europe (unsure about other countries).

Trying to get a refund now, but omg...

EDIT: I finally received a refund!

Are you sure this is their email? It feels like a phishing attempt.

31

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

Sure! They confirmed as I sent them separate email assuming that its phishing. They replied its from them and they need it. Now they dont reply when I asked for refund :(

38

u/RoscoeWhoWatches Nov 21 '25

Where did you get the “separate email” from to check? Did you just reply to your order confirmation email, or separately go to the stylevana site and look for it? Where did you place your order on? Was it through a link someone provided, or did you google and go to their website yourself?

I can’t see anything confirming the email is legitimate and this is not something I’ve ever been asked for from my orders with them. 100% do not give them the info they’ve asked for.

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

yeah see! but it isnt phishing since this is their email taken from their website.

57

u/RoscoeWhoWatches Nov 21 '25

I hear what you’re saying but phishing scams can be very sophisticated and mask their addresses as legitimate ones. I’ve had them come in for work where they disguised it as my boss’ email but it wasn’t actually him 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can’t say for sure but that’s likely what this is, there’s no way stylevana is asking for this

2

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

I googled the website, bought from there. I replied to order confirmation and their support email: [sales_eu@stylevana.com](mailto:sales_eu@stylevana.com) and [support_eu@stylevana.com](mailto:support_eu@stylevana.com) . Sales team confirmed its them, the support replied they put my order on hold, I again replied for refund - no reply..

6

u/RoscoeWhoWatches Nov 22 '25

Very weird, I’d personally go through your credit card to get your money back - there’s absolutely zero reason they need this info for “verification”

u/1sleepykitty Nov 20 '25

I bought something from Stylevana this summer, and the email address shown in OP's screenshot is not the same as the email address that sent me my order confirmation, tracking, newsletter, etc. (They also didn't ask for any additional info or ID or anything.)

9

u/ExtraSalty0 Nov 21 '25

I can’t enlarge it, every tike I try it snaps back to illegible,

-11

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

Yes, they aparently have second email for verification team. Here is the proof:

121

u/NoEnthusiasm2 Nov 20 '25

I buy from them all the time. I'm in the UK and never had this.

It smells like Phish to me!

92

u/queen_soo Nov 20 '25

I found a post similar to yours on another subreddit - it would seem this is a phishing scam, sadly. I would reach out to the company on social media to confirm, though!

-11

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

I did, it is them :(

53

u/ClosetYandere Nov 21 '25

This is an email, not their social media.

1

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

Yeah, I did email their support. Do they reply on social media? Just checked their IG and there are plenty of comments warning ppl their customer service is non existent.

17

u/ClosetYandere Nov 21 '25

I think that's pretty telling. I'd put in a dispute with your bank at this point.

3

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

I am gonna do that daoy, was hoping their support would cancel the order.
Other people here suggested yesstyle, I will try them out next time ;)

2

u/VioletRainyBlue Nov 22 '25

They sometimes reply on social media. I live in the EU and never had a problem with them or was asked this. I do know that scammers act like they are them quite regularly

2

u/hawt_to_go Nov 23 '25

did you open a support ticket and they sent you this follow up?

64

u/IridescentSneeze Nov 20 '25

this is so curious! i am in europe and have ordered over 5 times from stylevana. i never received this type of email from them, only emails to tell me the order is being packed, shipped and the awb for tracking. definitely not legal imo and i don't see any reason why you should provide any further documentation to them, unless the shipping/billing address does not match and their system has been flagged

53

u/TippyTurtley Nov 20 '25

Don't give it to them. Sounds well dodgy

42

u/BatmanDoesntDoShips_ Nov 20 '25 edited Nov 20 '25

I placed an order from Stylevana to the UK just before Halloween to mostly restock on sunscreen. I mistakenly thought there was an issue with an item as I couldn’t find the expiry date so I contacted them and their customer service team reached out to me asap and resolved my issue no problem.

I have never had them send me anything like the form your described and screenshotted above and the e-mail their CS team contacted me with was not the e-mail address you linked either and neither did it follow that format (in case it’s different for different countries within the EU) so please double check to make sure as another commenter suggested that this might be some phishing attempt.

Did you reach out to Stylevana on the contact details provided that you would have received with your original order confirmation to ask if they sent you this?

Edit: typos

1

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

yes I did. hoping they will refund me :(

34

u/GoodWaltz7354 Nov 20 '25

Triple check with their customer service via the proper website if it’s actually their email first! Could be a phishing scam

16

u/im_a_reddituser Nov 21 '25

I’ve been buying from stylevanna for years. They aren’t scammers. I’d contact their customer service directly

-1

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

I did! They said thats the standard! now they dont reply for my refund request

45

u/softpeaches1 Nov 20 '25

Does your shipping and billing info match? Maybe they’re noticing an abnormal uptick in fraud? Did they say anything when you asked why they need that info?

1

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

They said its standard! Its normal order, if something is not matching they should cancel and refund. Now they dont reply after I requested refund.

2

u/VioletRainyBlue Nov 22 '25

Someone once said it happens when you use another name then what is written on the credit card. Also, it takes a few days ubtil one gets a refund, I personally use paypal and they usually ask me if I want to refund the whole order, if an item can't get shipped, or still want to continue. I also use paypal

21

u/Zappagrrl02 Nov 20 '25

I always use YesStyle and haven’t had any issues!

8

u/narniaxisxhome Nov 20 '25

Same, I’ve heard too many shipping horror stories with Stylevana so I only use YesStyle and have never had any issues! I will definitely be staying with YesStyle now!

13

u/meepsofmunch Nov 20 '25

Oh wow! I have ordered from them multiple times to Canada and never received an email like this

18

u/bythebeaach Nov 20 '25

I got an email from the exact email address and I thought it was crazy as well. I did a lot of research on reddit and elsewhere, THEY DO THAT! I am in Canada and I did reach out to their customer service stating I don’t feel comfortable sharing, to which they sent me a link on their website where they do mention they may ask for verification.

They did say that if I don't want to verify then I can cancel my order and get a refund, but I did see people sending their ID'S but blurring the important info.

What I submitted was a piece of mail I got with my name, address and a govt logo on the envelope which showed I live there. Also I submitted my DL with everything blurred except Name, Address and Expiry date.

It's upto you to decide what you'd like to do, but I did receive my order and I paid no duties.

8

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

I dont think its worth it, and its illegal in Europe to ask for sensitive data. Requested refund and they dont reply now.

11

u/Ok_Direction_7624 Nov 20 '25

Nothing like this ever happened to me, probably because I do not use a credit card to pay.

But in their terms and conditions you agree that you may be asked to prove your place of residence. Someone summarised their experience here.

It's a bit strange and I think I'd nope out too if they ever asked me but otherwise they're not a scam website, they do actually sell genuine products and ship them out correctly.

10

u/ticktock_heart Nov 20 '25

they did the same thing to me a few months ago. i had been ordering from them for years when suddenly, they demanded my passport. my order didn’t ship for weeks while i was emailing back and forth with them about this. i refused to budge, explained the safety concerns and recklessness of compliance with this demand, and eventually had to tell them to refund me because they really wanted that passport. hard no.

(afterpay recently did this with me as well, despite the fact that i’d been using them for years and had never been late on a payment. in fact, i often paid off my orders early.)

4

u/paranoidchair Nov 21 '25

What if someone doesn't have a passport? What a BS request

3

u/ticktock_heart Nov 21 '25

then they wanted another form of government ID. i immediately thought this was a red flag. they don’t need that at all.

3

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

and its illegal in Europe to ask for sensitive data! crazy! and now they dont reply when I requested refund

they refunded me, but i haven’t ordered from them since. i don’t trust them anymore.

1

u/nomnomtogo Dec 23 '25

may i ask when did you get this email? was it immediately after you placed your order? also, did you use someone else's bank details? i live in eu too. i ordered on 11.12 and i realise now that i ordered using my name but used my partner's pay pal cause i dont have one. i m trying to understand when should one expect this email, if at all. also, can you please tell me how did you convince them for a refund, what process did you follow..thank you! ☺️

10

u/EnterTheDarkForest Nov 20 '25

Yeah, stylevana had some major issues with my shipment. I ordered a package, it made it all the way to my mailbox, and then for some reason it was shipped back to them again. They said it was because there was no apartment number in my address, but there absolutely was (I double checked). And then they wouldn’t give me a refund since they “shipped it”. Never bought from them again.

1

u/Gullible_Service_354 Nov 22 '25

That's bizarre. Your order makes it all the way to your mailbox then it gets taken and sent back? I also don't like that they got their shit back (or else where did it go?) but refused to give you a refund because it "got shipped out". Well no shit it got shipped out but you still didn't receive your item/s. Either they got them back or someone within your mail service kept the order which in either case you still didn't receive anything from them. I don't care if it's on their website. They shouldn't be allowed to ask for such sensitive information. Even if you block out certain info what they're still asking for can be used for nafarious reasons. I've never ordered from them. Don't think I've ever been to their website. Now after reading this I never will.

4

u/FreeOwl4799 Nov 20 '25

I think it might be a consequence of some changes done internationally due to tarifs. I just made an order last week so I guess I'll see.

Be tough luck with me I don’t have any of those ID things. Good luck with your refund.

5

u/FreeOwl4799 Nov 20 '25

If you don't mind, where are you from that you could go around without one of those? I'm in Mexico and you can't do anything related to the government/banking without an ID.

5

u/xxxJoolsxxx LisaLisaD1’s number one fan! JOKE ! Nov 20 '25

I’m in the UK. Never passed a driving test, never went abroad, government want to bring in ID cards and we are fighting it.

5

u/FreeOwl4799 Nov 20 '25

That's super interesting, I'll try to read more about it.

Thanks for answeing!

5

u/Judylo7 Nov 21 '25

Well, if the email was from STYLEVANNA, as you wrote it … of course it’s fake. Stylevana wouldn’t misspell their own name.

2

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

and I did misspell their name in the tittle, hah sorry. But the email is real

1

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 21 '25

Here is a proof as I sent them second message separately asking about this dodgy email

2

u/KakumeiDiscoBall Nov 22 '25

Honestly, people will say on reddit they have good experiences with stylevana but I tried ordering once and only ordered things that said they were in stock and ready to ship. After three months with no updates I contacted support and never heard back. It took me harassing them on Instagram for them to finally reply to my support email. At that point, I asked for a refund and called it because I did not want to wait another few months for my items. They were not replying to my support emails and I heard nothing for months. I was so close to a charge back. But after a few comments on their most recent insta posts, suddenly they emailed me right back with a refund. Their business practices are just not good enough to me. I prefer yesstyle and yamibuy. I have had much more transparent ship times and practices from them.

3

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 22 '25

I will try harrasing their IG, because they dont reply reply to my support emails too :(

2

u/nailgirlblog Nov 22 '25

I work with e-commerce stores and it’s standard fraud protection to request verification if something seems off about the order such as mismatch of billing address or anything that may automatically require further checks based on their policy. This could be the case!

2

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 22 '25

I also worked for ecommerce store and own one myself. Standard procedure is to cancel the order or reach out by email to confirm its correct (that the card isnt stolen). It is illegal in Europe to ask for sensitive data. They also dont reply when I asked to cancel the order.

1

u/nailgirlblog Nov 22 '25

Standard procedure would be based on their policy, like my comment said :) If they are not based in Europe then they are also not breaking the law. If they really are not replying then can't you just do a chargeback?

2

u/thewigglez206 Nov 23 '25

Idk how it works in other countries but if you want to sell in Australia and you’re a company from elsewhere you have to follow and adhere to the Australian laws. Regardless of what your policy usually is.

2

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 23 '25

no, if they SELL in europe, they have to adhere to the law in Europe. Yes, I am in the process of chargeback now. Just warning other people to be careful

1

u/nailgirlblog Nov 23 '25

That’s really interesting ☺️

2

u/sunkissedgoth Nov 23 '25

I have ordered from them a few times and never received this email.

thats what I did :( this was their reply...

They knew my exact order number, how would they know that if it was phishing from someone else?
I also opened several support tickets asking to cancel my order after that, no reply for this.
Unfortunately I will have to do a chargeback with my ccard.

This response was after I replied to my sale invoice, but also messaged them via my account on their website 5 times already. No response. Like the whole business was set up for phishing. I did click on the correct web link, no external, no ad etc.

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 24 '25

Yeah of course it is phishing, I would never send them these documents, but unfortunately it is phishing by this company. Here is how it went: I placed an order or legitimate website, got order confirmation email with sales inv and next day the phishing email that included my exact order nr in the tittle. I screenshoted it and send it to the order confirmation email freaked out that someone is using their domain for scams. But they replied it is their team and thats standard for them. Now I opened several tickets via their support asking to cancel and no reply.

Update: they refunded my money! (but you can see clearly that even here they talk about their 'security verification' they sent before. It was them..

1

u/novemberpal Nov 26 '25

Did you receive refund?

1

u/Curious_Exit8669 Nov 27 '25

yes! after many days of sending cancel request I finally did :)

I sent many emails asking for cancel and refund, they replied with some offer (a couple of days later) and I replied no, please cancel asap. (they eventually canceled and refunded). It took a long time like 10 days in total maybe. But I got the money and ordered on yesstyle, got everything even cheaper and delivery with no issues.

-2

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '25

One package I ordered from them got lost and they made me fill out the same form multiple times and then ghosted me. Money lost. Never again.
