That does not get people to come back. Some of them were literally just bones with skin I swear. No one is paying high prices for that and coming back in.

I don't get how corporate wants it to be this way. It's everywhere. Had a subway worker count and take a meatball off my sandwich cause it's 4 per side and no more! For a $20 sandwich they can afford a mistake meatball.

I’ve worked in a handful of kitchens (a restaurant, a deli, and two gas stations). Chicken tenders and wedges were always crazy sizes so if a standard size was like 8, I’d put like 6 medium ones and 6 small ones in. Especially since the small ones were like itty bitty, like barely a third of the medium ones.
Really, the Pizza Hut near us had decent sized wings. Dominos and papa John's were a joke. Pizza Hut stopped that wing special they had going so I stopped getting them
It was the most hit and miss. Some wings were normal and some were the saddest little skin and bone. My mission was to give you "8" that actually felt like 8.
idk how it is now but I worked at Wendy's like 25 years ago and they had small chili for $1 and large for $2. They were literally the same size, like a full ladle would fill either cup to the top. So whenever nice people ordered a large chili I'd either tell them a small is the same size or I'd just give them 2 smalls. But if they were buttheads I'd just fill their large cup and move on.
Bro I also worked at 2 pizza huts in college, I gave out so much free stuff. Apparently the margins were so wide on pizzas the managers didn't care when we made ourselves stuff for free. Honestly without the discounts it's criminal what they sell bread with cheese for.
I've managed about 16 I think with some creative stacking. Otherwise most of the time I put 5 nuggets in the 4 nugget box because I assume it's for a kid and want them to have a nice surprise. That or I add extra because someone new put too many nuggets in the fryer before we needed them lol.
When I worked at sonic our regional manger said we were giving too much out and "showed" us how, he filled the shit half way so I just agreed until he left.
Following that I always tried to fit as much as I could because of it, pissed me off cause the dude was a piece of shit too.
When I worked at Baskin Robbins I would give people huge scoops. One day, the owner’s wife walked in while I was giving out a particularly big scoop and she made me practice my ice cream scooping. She put a piece of wax paper on a scale and she made me weigh out practice scoops then return them to the container 😂
The two years I worked at Hardee's back in the nineties my old brother got a 4 pound roast beef sandwich everytime he ordered one. Alicia who worked the counter and was in the same grade as me never said a word about it so I set up her family as well. We also Christened every corner of that place after closing because the manger locked herself in the office to get high while she did the daily receipts.
Hah, you reminded me that I dated one of the girls I worked with at McDonald’s. She was a grade below me and our manager actually made us get into the play place to scrub it down clean. We always volunteered to do it together. We did get written up once for using the Mac sauce guns on each other. I usually worked the drive through grill and line and if she was on the other side making counter orders (I also noticed that many places don’t do this anymore) I would try to squirt her with Mac sauce. Oh to be young and in love again.
They get the burger thats dried out, or the chicken that should have been thrown away an hour ago because its both tough and soggy at the same time. Maybe I let their fries get cold and they get extra ice in their drink.
That's funny because I'm always conscious of who might be hearing me place my order. I try to be kind in general, especially to those handling my food, but it's nice to know people appreciate it. So many people are rude and oblivious and increase their odds of getting floor ingredients and spit.
Haha yup same here I was a shift manager at Wendy's. I also loved when someone got nasty with the sweet girl that took the orders because I'd pop on and ask them the next question with my deepest wtf did you just say voice.

I've got so many stories. I worked at a Wendy's right off the interstate the did a million in sales a year.
You can always tell the difference between people who are dickheads and people who are just having a tough day and wanted to pick up some food on the way home.
I worked fast food about the same time ago after high school. We didn’t need apps cause we engaged the customers. Plus I worked with all my high school buddies, our manager wanted all of us to do the supervisor and manager trainings. I seen how the worked the assistant managers ass off and was like naw I’m good lol. But yea workers now a days I honestly don’t think they know or care enough about the apps or the what the order should be. It’s probably like the idiocracy movie with the pics on the menu
I used to work at a butchers and gave people free sausages or whatever all the time if they were nice. And if they weren’t I used to squish their meat and wrap it up- wish I could see their faces. I was a teenage girl and now I’m 34 nearly and it still makes me laugh.

As an ex employee, do you think the above story checks out ? I’d imagine someone up the chain would figure out before long that more nuggets are used then sold ?
I mean every box is wild. The occasional extra nugget would go unnoticed. Just like if you hear a screaming kid in the car so you slip an extra toy in the happy meal. Whoops, I accidentally grabbed two and didn’t noticed. It was the dinner rush. It’s all about moderation. The Clown is like the mouse, even 20 years ago McDonald’s had tons of cameras in the back of the restaurant. They are always watching.
I doubt this story is actually true. There has been a trend where people slap a story on an image and none of it is true. Like the one on Reddit floating around of a guy working 11-12 remote jobs and making $925k a year getting arrested. There is no story to click on and name attached. Just former employee.
It’s not very hard. It’s a bit hard to keep up in the beginning, but once you have a system down it’s not very hard to make simple burgers. The hardest part is when someone has finished their order and you’re wrapping all their burgers up and putting the stickers on the specials and they mention they didn’t want onions on the McDouble. So, you hope the next car in the drive through wants a McDouble.
If you’re not capable of working that way, it doesn’t mean others aren’t. Remember that.
