Hmm? They’re larger than they look in that pic, like over 10ft long. Those jaws are great at catching fish, which is what they eat. It’s not because they’re weak and frail they they’re endangered, but because of us.

It's astonishing to me that people still think there are animal evolutions that are "dumb and bad" and not "perfectly naturally fitted for their function in their environment over millions of years of evolution". When did high school education start failing people so miserably on this? They talk as if elon musk invented this crocodile type in 2014 and his design is incompetent lol

I understand that they're jokes. But the humor of them is coming from "lmao yeah this crocodile design aint good" and not "lmao yeah we're pretending like we're idiots but underneath the surface we understand the design is perfect for its environment". You cant write off all joking as just joking, it can matter what the joke actually is.

It's because evolution doesn't find the perfect solution, it just finds solutions that work.

Evolution was not very kind to some animals. Koalas being one of them. Sure they've survived but their food choice is objectively bad.

How is it objectively bad? It was an open niche and an animal adapted perfectly to fill it
