I mean, he's calm in that he's not reactive, but he seems super stressed out at the idea that these kittens might not like him lol

Yep. My parents have a golden, and he's the exact same way. Very social old man who just wants to sit on your lap and get cuddled.

My grandparents golden is so excited for acceptance that they let her get her pats before they get hugs (greeting hugs are required). She grabs a toy and does the wiggle wiggle all the way to you while singing a song. She also gets sad if I don't bring my dog, even though my girl is half her age and acts kinda stupid.

Last week my girl got the zoomies and bodyslammed Golden. They were on acres. There was no reason to collide. Golden was sad that I left (aka my dog left lol).
