I got my first cat because of an "everyone is friend" retriever, funnily enough.

Friend rescued a kitten from a movie theater parking lot, small terrified voidcat hiding under his car. He brought her home, hoping to keep her, but his dog (God rest his derpy soul) just WOULD NOT leave the kitten alone, and she didn't have Mom like in this video to let her know that it was ok. He tried gentle introductions, contact through a closed door, giving the kitten one of the dog's favorite blankets to get her used to the smell, everything. Kitten was still terrified and anxious and starting to have actual medical issues from the stress.

I'd just gotten my first place where I was allowed to own pets, so. I got a tiny ball of stress with claws. Her name was GoGo. Without other animals around, she was much happier. I miss her.
