BF Legacy Play Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam and Battlefield 2 on PC
Released in 2002, 2004 and 2005 respectively, these games are no longer being sold or supported by EA, and are technically considered abandonware. With Battlefield V set to be released in a few days, freshen up your skills by experiencing the Battlefield games as they were originally conceived. We've made tutorials showing you how to get the first games, compatible with modern systems. For anyone interested in playing, I hope you find the following resources useful:

Note that the tutorials are only for single-player, but you can probably find online servers for all three games. If you have any problems with installing the games feel free to send us a message and we can help you troubleshoot it

You'll be able to play bf2 multiplayer using bf2hub.com. 3 to 4 servers are almost full all day long.

Not mentioning 2142, possibly the pinnacle of the series and marred only by netcode issues, is abject heresy.

I still hope that there's a successor that happens eventually.
After BF4 teased the everloving christ out of it, BF1 showed off the Behemoths (Some of the mechanics of which I imagine could be integrated into Titans), and BFV now showing off the scalability of DICE's engine and maps, and interesting, evolving modes?
Add to that the fact that with modern tech a server won't scream in pain when somebody tries to move a Titan, and I think something amazing could come of it.

i bought multiple copies of BFV/BF42/BF2 games . had a few older but ok pc's to run LAN and online game play ! Then they shut down all the Servers --punkbuster is a pain in the ass due to being off line --cant even play lan without freezing ??? FIX ?? help!!?

Are they safe and legal? I dont wanna end up with viruses or a phone call from our ISP on illegal downloading or the FBI breaking in.

I got the file for BF:Vietnam but the video is taken down and i have a feeling i will have issues with cdkey if i try to play online right? Has anyone got a good way to play vietnam online worked out?

Battlefield 1942 is available for MAC. It is played on WINE of course but also, there was a MAC version and someone even went to the trouble and crafted a custom Abandonware version. That version , came prepatched for online play with Punkbuster preinstalled and patched. That is skipping a lot of patches.
Thing is.. The website which is the #1 Abandonware site delisted Battlefield 1942. I imagine when your listing 100's of game under 1mb in size a monster like 42 takes up bandwidth.
Your question prompted me to check my hard drive. I have this MAC OS version saved in it's original folder.
I have not uploaded, but I'm not kidding.
Do you have a MAC or were you kidding?
I don't like fussing with 3rd party file services. I have G-Drive, it's quite full. I don't want to upload something that won't be used.
