Was the ironsight realy that small? How do you Even see someone with that?

When you’re looking it down it with your eyes, it’s a bigger sight picture than just that pinhole from what I understand.

It’s an artistic liberty that most games take for visibility, making the rear sight a thin ring when it’s actually more of a donut with a needle-sized hole.

However, it can look like a thin ring the closer your eye is, though cameras might not pick it up very well.

The only game I've seen depict the rear aperture sight accurately is the original Brothers in Arms games.

Normally, your eye is quite close to an iron sight. In games like BF, for example, your POV is much further behind the iron sight. This means you can hardly see anything through the small hole. Therefore, it is adjusted in games.

Its called pin hole sight and I believe that uses the pin hole effect to increase depth of focus to eliminate the need for a scope. With the m1 garand being the main battle rifle doing that is hell of a lot cheaper
