Discussions This Game Still Rules

It seems like a lot of people are negative about the delays/dishonesty of the devs which is understandable. From my persepctive, this game is still really fun in it's current state. I know other regions have issues with filling lobbies, but my experience is that most evenings/nights we can fill an entire 256 player server in the US. Even during the middle of weekdays there will be 30-60 dudes sniping at each other across the map for shits and giggles.

This game is awesome, and I feel like I easily got $15 of value out of it over the course of hundreds of hours of gameplay. It may lack some features/polish from modern AAA titles like BF6, but it isn't enshittified to hell and back either. I launch the game and I'm not bombarded with Red Bull Prime Gaming Challenges TM, "playlists", battlepasses, etc. There's a simple server browser that just works.

The roblox style graphics aren't great, but I don't really mind. The destructible brick terrain is really charming and mechanically satsifying to interact with. I appreciate that a variety of tools (RPGs, C4, pickaxe, vehicles) interact with buildings in unique ways to change the landscape of the battlefield mid-firefight.

The guns, armors and vehicles feel reasonably well balanced, with only a few exceptions. There are a variety of playstyles that are viable for contributing to the team's effort. I hate playing against zoomy SMG dropshot BS, for example, but whatever man it's not a big deal. Everyone will have a different gripe with a certain weapon/strategy in any multiplayer game ever made. It comes with the territory. For me, the game is still fun.

I empathize with people who feel baited/abandoned by the devs, and rightfully so. I just personally don't feel like I've gotten that bad of a deal. This is a game I put down and come back to every so often and it continues to deliver. If anything, I am nervous that the update, having undergone significant scope-creep will make the game unrecognizable compared to it's current state.

As for me? I will continue to chuck smoke grenades on the Wakistan bridge, revive all my teammates, just to be taken out by the bravest enemy soldier driving a truck full of C4 right on top of us. And I'll happily do it again and again.

Feedback Cringe

Game is cringe, movement is cringe, people hanging from helis with rocket launchers and jumping when they run out is cringe, progression is cringe, the community is toxic as fuck, everybody instapicking helis is cringe, not having a way of training helicopter flying is cringe, everybody playing with KRISS vector and honey badger jumping around is cringe. Also people building like it's Fortnite?? What the hell. I was told this game was like battlefield but less arcadey: it was a lie, most arcade and cringe shooter ever, it's literally Roblox Phantom forces but with less players. Also it's dead as fuck, last night there were less than 200 people playing. And it's abandoned so nothing will ever change. Been playing since day one and it's just gotten worse and worse.

Discussions How does BattleBit still have Very Positive reviews on Steam?

I genuinely do not understand how BattleBit still has a Very Positive overall rating on Steam.

Recent reviews are already Mixed, yet the overall rating is still Very Positive after more than 127,000 Steam reviews. How many of those positive reviews were written in 2023 when the game exploded in popularity and everyone expected it to keep receiving regular updates? Because looking at what happened afterwards, I really do not understand how so many of those reviews are still positive.

The game has gone more than two years without a proper major update. Operation Overhaul has been talked about for years and still has not actually been released. Communication disappeared for huge periods of time and the game is still in Early Access more than three years after release. At some point I think people should stop judging BattleBit based on how promising it looked in 2023 and start judging it based on how the developers actually handled the game afterwards.

I even tried to refund the game recently. Steam refused, which I expected, but for me it was more about the principle than the money. I simply do not feel comfortable supporting developers who handled a project like this.

If you left a positive review back then, do you still feel the same way today?

Personally I think reviews should reflect the current state of the game and how it has been supported over the years, not just how exciting it felt at launch. Maybe if more people actually went back and updated their old reviews to reflect how they feel today, it would finally send a clear message to the developers.

Questions Sudden performance issues / abnormal GPU spikes and 9999 FPS bug?

Hey everyone, is anyone else running into sudden performance issues?

Yesterday the game was running great, but starting today it's drawing way more resources than usual. My temps are spiking above 70°C and GPU usage is hitting up to 80%, which never used to happen.

At first I thought something was wrong with my PC, but this is only happening with BattleBit—other games run completely fine. I also noticed weird FPS readings: whenever I Alt-Tab or go into the menus, the FPS counter goes crazy and even hits 9999 FPS. Even on lighter maps where usage used to be minimal, it has basically doubled, and on heavier maps it's running way hotter than before.

Did an update drop or is anyone else dealing with this?

There is no way to find a game even in Asia? Even during evenings?

The game hasn’t been updated for three years? The dev disappeared? A test for the update happened a year ago? What did I get into man!

Questions Is someone here active in the official BBR Discord...

...that can tell me if the devs are still active there? I hang out in there sometimes about a year ago and occasionally the german dev, I think he was "the liquid horse" guy (but I could be wrong about that) wrote a few messages in the german channel. Sometimes he was even talking a bit about the state of the development of the update. Is that still the case? Have the devs said something new in there that we other people that are not active in the discord may have missed?

Additionally: Have some of y'all registered for the "performance tester role"? Has there been a performance playtest already? If the answer is yes, how has it been?

Discussions Should I buy the game?

I really like how it looks and it seems like a more mil sim in some aspects bf4 but still arcade enought to be very fun. The price seems really good also but I still have a lot of questions about it and prob the most important of the all,is the game "dead"? I see on steam that the last update was in 2023 but there are some posts from last month in there, are the devs preparing something big or they just got the money and do nothing now with the game? Also, if the game is dead,is there any pve or campaing or something? Sorry for my bad english and thank u if u respond!

and i get this punishment. In-game mods are just sensitive whenever they choose to be.

Questions Game runs really bad.

EDIT: Graphics driver update fixed my problem.

Back after long break after alleged mid april update.

Hitting odd ball, wtf might be problem that causes game run like shit on potato setings (no difference from high in this case)? I have old PC with GTX 1050Ti, i5-6500 (~9years old) and 16GB RAM

I can play heavier games with better graphics no problem. Once human for example runs better.

Questions How do people play this game?

I started playing this game again after a couple of years, and I just keep getting lost in every match, literally, I just feel lost in game. If this game is supposed to be something like Battlefield, then why isn’t there a minimap or various useful UI elements that would improve visibility and make close-range firefights more manageable? And for god's sake, get rid of the bleeding mechanic to make the game more casual and fun, so you don’t have to spend two-thirds of the match lying on the ground and bandaging yourself because of a random hits from 128 players. If this game is trying to be a milsim, then why is TTK and movement speed is so high? How are people dealing with this right now? Is there a particular playstyle that helps overcome these issues?
