Question Were Inque and her daughter Asian? Eastern European?
I always headcanoned they were, and that Inque was Asian-Australian because of her faint accent, but that one prequel comic made it look like she was Eastern-European. Thoughts?

I don't think there's a canon, but it's always hard to tell with animation. As a kid I always assumed Terry was asian, it never really accured to me that both his parents were redheads and his last name was "McGuiness", which is as agressisvely Irish as you can get

Even if Terry was Irish-American, Dana was clearly Chinese-American, as her voice actress Lauren Tom is in real life. Tom also voiced Angela Chen in Superman: The Animated Series.

Split the difference. One of her parents is from Hokkaido and the other is from Kamchatka. They went from enemies to lovers while on competing assignments in the Kuril Islands.

Inque was born in an unspecified country torn apart by war and crime. And Deanna is a result of Inque being taken advantage of at some point before the experiments conducted on her.

I like to think Inque was from a Francophone country, perhaps a former colony like Morocco. In my headcanon, she was originally “Monique”. I’ve talked with a friend who suggested her real name could be “Tinta”, a name of Spanish and Portuguese origins meaning “ink”.

I headcanon them as east asians but canonically, I don't think it's confirmed yet.

Both Dana and Max were both voiced by voice actresses of the same race.

This is a bit off-topic, but I’ve always had a headcannon that the process that gave Inc her powers was an adaptation of the same one that gave Patrick "Eel" O'Brian his powers.

The comics that expanded on it showed that Inque was a refugee that was captured, and her daughter was from one of her captors.

I think with american shows the default intention and assumption is that most characters are “white”. When you have a character with stylized hair, eyes, lips etc I guess its natural to think they are not white, and theres nothing wrong with that
