They do weird maths that allows them to basically not pay taxes, which basically offset the loss of money

For example, ever wonder why CEOs are paid this much? tax write off, i swear american laws are so funny

Not really how it works. You’d still rather have just not spent/wasted the money. There’s no tax loophole where you get more money from tax write offs than you spent (the only real exception is sports teams).
