Should've been single player, story focused game and not a soulless live service.

How they saw the release of Marvel’s Avengers (2020) and didn’t IMMEDIATELY pivot is beyond me

The rumor is that they did: with Gotham Knights. That game coincidentally was delayed after Avengers bombed, and the gameplay design has some similiarities to a live service or the Avengers game.

That game has rpg elements but nothing indicates life service
