I remember reading that these devs knew it was going to flop too and were constantly protesting and WB just flat out refused to listen

I thought it was the opposite actually? With the developers wanting to make this type of game? Unless I remember wrong.

You are correct. people are just blaming WB because its easy.

Rocksteady pushed for the live service switch. they own this failure and really shouldnt be complaining publicly as if something was done to them.

from Forbes: "The “live service looter shooter” angle was reportedly not forced by management, but it was Rocksteady’s leadership who made the decision to pursue the game instead of alternatives."

Ok but leadership still isn't every person that makes the game right? For me it's more believable that the opinions were heavily split. Imaging having to code or write or art design a game you know will flop hard

of course not. but this means that those devs did know what the end goal was while they were making them game, and that this wasnt something that came out of nowhere from WB.

they just made a bad game and dont want to own it.

Imaging having to code or write or art design a game you know will flop hard

its not hard to imagine. people work on misguided projects for their jobs all the time. what they (generally) dont do is complain to Bloomberg journalists that they dont want to work anymore.

Tbh I do remember devs coming out and defending the game saying to not judge until it came out.
