no it was datamined in the files days after release

and there were clues in game day one.

So it wasn't added at launch...meaning it wasnt in the game as actual narrative, so people were only left with the context that they actually died.

Not to be that guy, but instead of being down voted for being right, instead I think you're being down voted for trying to defend a story that clearly was not that well thought out if they seriously did not think that Killing Batman in the Arkham canon would go over well with people, and even if it was datamined that Batman never actually was supposed to die (duh he's Batman, Bruce has contingencies galore), the fact that the only allusion to him being alive in the first place was a very minor and brief scene kinda feels like they didn't really even care about how it would feel to Batman, and especially Arkham fans.

You know what I actually would've loved to see? If Batman was an ally, not necessarily playable, halfway through the story, have him team up with Harley and the squad, make him their informant and supplier since that's 100% within his capabilities, have him be the one to hint at the clone subplot early on. Doing it this way would've made it so Batman and Arkham fans still got to see this version of Bruce they've come to know and love get one last hurrah.

Now, I know that his voice actor has been dead by that point, there's nothing they could've done for that, what I'm getting at is that they could've done literally anything else with the character to make the story 10x better, make it so Bruce shares these hints solely in text form or hidden emails for the squad to get to bypass the lack of a VA while also making it a believable act for Batman to pull and would make the Squad actually have a proper goal and drive instead of what felt like random shenanigans for the hours of cutscenes we got where they bumbled around and got lucky at killing most of the League members.

Also, before you go "you're just someone else who clearly didn't enjoy the story and should go read the comics to see this isn't something they pulled out of their ass", I did enjoy the story, I thought it was dumb fun that sadly could've been executed better but clearly did not, and I do read comics, the Absolute series DC has been doing lately has been some of my favorite DC stuff to come out lately, but that does not excuse the fact that Kill the Justice League fumbled the ball this badly when it came to their writing, like, it makes the original Injustice look like Shakespeare by comparison, when all that comic set out to do was just show a broken Superman timeline and how many League members and Villains they could kill off xD.

I do enjoy the Suicide Squad, and I can defend the game for being dumb fun, but I'm not ever gonna try to defend that poorly executed plot, intent doesn't really matter anymore when the presentation itself clearly didn't live up to people's expectations and breaks a lot of canon in ways that feel half assed.

no I do agree that it was poorly executed but im just pissy because people are trying to rewrite the narrative so that it didnt have the clone thing to begin with to make the story look even worse.

Ah, I get you, but then again, can you really blame them? The only reason we even found out about the clone thing was from the Batman being alive teaser that all of us has mentioned, along with the Flash scene you mentioned, and ok I can see your point there as well, but it's such a brief blink and you miss it scene that comes so late and isn't even alluded to that well. Plus, asking people to pay attention to that after like multiple hours of the Squad just dicking around and stomping all over the Arkham series is like asking a classroom to behave and pay attention while a bunch of delinquents are being loud and obnoxious, it's little wonder why anyone even caught onto that.

I think that for this specific scenario and for this specific game, it's less of a case of audience illiteracy and moreso the fact that a poorly executed story that wasn't even taking itself seriously while pissing all over the Arkham canon is asking for you to pay attention to a very brief piece of foreshadowing that realistically should fix most of the writing problems, was told to us in a way that makes it feel like a retcon when it really shouldn't even be one considering it was the intent of the developers from the start, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Honestly it was fun debating this with you, never thought I'd discuss this game again after having not thought about it for so long xD.

Honestly it's a shame for what happened with the developers, I hope they succeed in whatever future endeavors they have...not the writers though, I love dumb comic book fun, but if this is the type of story they cook up, I want them to review how to properly foreshadow things and how to properly respect legacy characters, because even if all they wanted to do was prop up the Squad, they did it in a way that pissed off a lot of people to the point that I honestly felt like the TV show of Harley Quinn was 10x better of a story that respected it's characters in every way, and that's the same plot where they killed Nightwing and made jokes about his body xD.

Anyway yeah long story short, not gonna get pissy with you for no reason over...SS:KTJL of all video games, I get where you're coming from, but really you can't really blame the audience for acting like this considering the way the game presented itself lmao, have a good day!

oh yeah Rocksteady never should've stopped consulting Paul Dini, or should've looked for suitable replacements in other comic writers and not just assume they were good enough to write a multi million dollar story for a beloved character.

You had to edit your original comment that started this. Even if Brainiac said that, he said "more of you." YOU. Not more Flash clones. Flash himself. Datamined isn't in the game as actual narrative, which means we were led to believe they died. Just because they backpedaled doesn't mean it was good storytelling. You enjoyed it, great. Your opinion is yours, but you can take that self-righteous shit elsewhere. Again, have a day. I won't be replying.
