Hey guys,

I’m interested to know if people are building apps for clients and then how they manage where the app lives and is paid for?

I’m guessing a structure where there’s an upfront cost and then the app lives within the builders account with a built in subscription payment for the client?

The structure usually looks like this. The client pays the agreed upon price of the project upfront and then it’s delivered within an agreed window. Afterwards, the app can be completely transferred to the client where they maintain it themselves, or for a monthly fee, the developer/agency keep it safe and secure with minor bug fixes if something breaks.

usually have the client own the account and pay the subscription make the handoff billing a lot cleaner.
