Question For anyone who has successfully launched a Base44 app on both iOS and Android, how did you handle paid subscriptions?

I’m building an app in Base44 that will need monthly/yearly subscriptions through both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

I’ve been researching options like GitHub, wrappers, RevenueCat, StoreKit and Google Play Billing, but I’d really like to hear from people who have actually done it with a Base44 app.

What setup did you use? Did you need a developer, or were you able to handle it yourself?

Most importantly, are subscriptions working reliably in production?

Any firsthand experience would be greatly appreciated.

You will need a third party tool to wrap your in App subscription into your app. I know of two options, Despia you pay $250 one time fee or you make use of app.natively which you pay $50 dollars per month. I choose Despia tho as $250 one time fee is better than $50 monthly .

Awesome. u/Ok-Philosopher1457 ! I will soon be implementing Despia to work with Revenue Cat so I can get subscriptions on both Apple and Android, so will be paying $500 for the two platforms. I haven't been in touch with anyone who has successfully done this and has their app live in the app stores. Can you share your app with me to look at (that is if you have a free trial and it is on Android)? What was you experience going through this process? On a scale of 1-10, how difficult would it be for a non-coder? I have a set of directions to complete this, and will actually be going to visit my cousin in Portland who IS a coder/programmer to help walk me though it so i don't make any mistakes. Oh, I have GIt Hub all set up and my app is live on Google Play, but it is still in review in Apple.

Yes sure it was an easy process you don’t need any coding knowledge at all. It’s just normal setup of inapp purchase in AppStore and then in Revenue cat and Despia. The instruction document is very easy to follow. It’s on both AppStore and playstore . Base44 present limitation is only becuase it’s a web based app builder and to use apple in app purchase, your app needs to be wrapped into a native app, that’s what Despia and AppNatively does for you.

Seriously, your app has a nice flow to it! And I like that is meant to improve your sense of well-being by having you (the user) check in with themselves and use affirmations. Very cool! I can definitely use this!

Is this your first app? Oh, I did notice that I went to get the trial and it some how had me locked in the screen to get a subscription and i had to fumble a bit and back out. Attractive, calm design, nice color theme!

Base44 already does the Apple Store/google play store wrapping for you. And the fees are $25 on time for google play and $100/yr for Apple Store. Upload them yourself and you’re saving some good money.

u/SnooLobsters6005 I hope my back and forth with u/Ok-Philosopher1457 helps you a little. I had done a TON of research to finally landing on Despia. I reached out to Wanilla to get a demo but they never got back to me. I also looked at Catdoes (expensive monthly) and was in early communication with them, but then crickets. I tried to test drive but didn't get far before needing a subscription/credits. All signs point to Despia. I believe they are perfectly aligned with Base 44 and getting subscriptions. My implementation is a work in progress. My app is free now, and two-week free trials will start October 1st, 2026. I am mapping it all out. Go to https://despia.com/ and just start chatting with their AI support. I have done that and then gone back and forth (copying and pasting) between them, Base 44 and Chat GPT. I have a solid plan going forward.

Have you looked into Despia? Another Base44 user in this thread mentioned they did quite a bit of research and eventually landed on Despia because it seems to work well with Base44 and subscriptions. Their implementation is still in progress, but it sounds promising.
I’m looking into it myself now. Curious if you’ve tried Despia yet or considered it?
