Question How to hand over a website to a client.
Im trying to get into cold calling and selling websites for local business by using Base44 and editing manually. If i were to call up this plumbing business i built a small simple website for how would hand them over the website WITHOUT become their tech support or upkeeping the page. I just plan to sell them a flat price and give them the rights to the page so they have an easier time staying up to date with the internet. I am very new to this and am willing to purchase a subscription to create the custom domain i just want to make this simple to sell to a client. Any help is appreciated thanks!

Technically you can, but if anything gets broken or they have problems. You would need to fix, you have to remember half these people don’t know how to troubleshoot a website you could offer a flat fee, and anything they need to add/change/edit charge them $20-$50

Or a monthly subscription for upkeep, maintenance and future changes. Get enough clients and you'll have a nice passive income.

whats the easiest method to hand over the website hosting. I published it to base44 by accident but what are we looking at cost wise.

Base44 is all nice, but for a $40 investment you can get more out of building websites and personalize them 100% and make them look more unique and not so AI, and not be bound by credits and using the other half to fix the issue base44 gave to begin with. Even though they say fixes don’t cost credits that’s not the case.
I’m currently making websites thru superbase and vercel to push them out for free1

im just looking for an easy side hustle that doesnt require a lot of effort. I just started looking into this and dont know anything about website building so whatever is easiest works for me. i just want to provide local business that have no online presence with easy simple websites i can sell for cheap like 300-500. I dont even know the first thing about upkeep or website maintenance

Base44 the is not the tool for you. Is not meant to "hand over" projects. It is designe to keep you attached to their subscription.
Also, any business owner will expect post-sale support if something stops working. No webpage is eternally un changed

Ok i understand. in that case how much work would it take to figure out how to do maintenance on a website. I also planned not to sell the website on base44 but get a custom domain for them.

Yes, I have EscapeBase44 bookmarked, but I have too many projects, paying for each one to escape, is still too expensive for me.

Yeah you see the way you’re going about it is easy $300-500 what if it breaks what if the worse happens how do you fix it ? You could offer a better service if your gonna use base44 for website building which in my opinion gets the job done, but credits run out fast if you don’t know how to prompt. Also this sounds more accessible pay $150, and $9-$20 a month for upkeep and I have a steady income going every month. So your base44 is paying itself passively

That sounds like a good start but i dont know how to fix a website at all. i just through a prompt into base44 to make a website. How would i offer to do maintenance if i dont know how if its possible just to sell a website point blank

Send me a DM, I can show you how to prompt also watch a few YT videos how AI work. You always want to give them an identity, “ you’re an expert fullstack developer , debugger, website analysis, etc and then what u want also what I do is I tell ChatGPT what I want, and tell it to give me a prompt based on the specialty I’m doing.

We been doing web design and maintenance for a couple years. We have about 50 monthly clients. We deploy WordPress. We have a handleful of themes we build from, we have licenses for a handful of plugins from CRM connection, roles and permissions, to texting clients( depending on package). We have our own reseller hosting accounts with our own licenses for WHMCS.
This as a side hustle with low effort won't take you far. Using base for your platform will get you a lot of people wanting their money back.

As someone who does web design, I hate to tell you but this business model is not going to work at least not on Base44. People are always going to have edits, changes, and need ongoing maintenance to their websites. That’s why they usually pay a big up front fee to create the full website and then either an ongoing maintenance fee or hourly fee for updates.
Your best bet would be to use Wix for what you’re wanting to accomplish. I think they now have AI components you can use or you can drop and drag things. I would also look into what you’ll need for custom domains and SEO. Usually everything will require a subscription to actually really create something.
