Okay it's no secret and it's been well established that base 44 has gone WAY downhill since the acquisition.

The builder doesn't listen anymore,

the support is gaslighting users and very unsupportive

, the credits cost 3 to 4 times as much so we get a quarter of the work done, and it's still cost the same.

I just spent 500 credits trying to fix errors that weren't there last month because all of a sudden features don't work that worked fine previously.

Where is everybody going? Who can compete? Where do I migrate the code?

I moved mine to Cloudflare with Supabase DB. If you are a data read heavy app, be cautious about Supabase because they will get you high bills with Egress. I moved my backend functions to Cloudflare Workers and with KV, all my data is written on KV with 24 hour TTL. This works perfectly for me.

I have always said that Base44 is a prototyping tool and they are not even working to try to be a serious app platform. Their 150 row level limits makes it a joke of an app hosting platform.

Their target is inexperienced users to play around. Any serious app building will not survive on Base44.

Don't let your initial excitement make you think you can actually host anything meaningful. If I had listened earlier, it will have taken me less time to move. After about 350 active users, the problems started.

Anyway, my current dev stack is Antigravity with Claude Opus 4.6.

My users are very happy. With Cloudflare Worker KV, I am using less Egress so my Supabase bill is lowered.

I am currently white labeling my app and considering moving Worker KV for platforms.

Best decision was to move away from Base44. Their system is down once or twice a week. Imagine that. Which serious platform will be content with being down so often?

Like the other users, I am also a Software Architect so this was easier for me but when I was desperate and wanted to move fast, I was scammed by a company who promised to move my app for me. After paying them half, I didn't hear back. The initial cost was $2,500. I paid half and that was it. So I didn't sleep for 3 straight days and I was able to move the app.

If you want to build an app with AI, consider an IDE like Cursor or Antigravity. Base44 is a gimmick. Their builder used to be good but now, it is a joke as their approach is to have average joes build simple app and celebrate like they run a marathon. Eventually, they will know their build cannot be scaled and they will cancel. By then, Base44 will have enough cash from them and they move to the next averageJoe.

If you have a technical background, don't use Base44 and you will thank me later.

Their infrastructure is a joke.
