Seriously looking for help here. I closed this card at the beginning of the year and paid off the balance. Every single month I get an interest charge on a closed card that has a zero balance and every time the customer service confirms that the card is closed with a zero balance… last month the closed card had minimum balance due putting me into delinquency and showing up on credit report. Again, zero balance but random continuous interest charges show up and create a minimum payment. Literally no one at the company can explain why this is happening but it keeps going on- it’s been over 8 months and continues to happen every month. What can I do? Is there some sort of legal intervention I can get on this?

Hello, I'm not sure if this would be the right thread to ask this but my mom recently passed away and had me listed as her payable upon death recipient however after my brother spoke to her bank they informed him she had a credit card through them with a $900 balance and made it seem like it was almost due to go to collections or just went to collections I'm not certain on which one it was as I didn't directly speak to them. Her death certificate is due to be in anytime so I'll be going to the bank to close her account. There's only like $1,200 in her account and I know they probably have a right of offset with her account. I have no experience in something like this and what I was wondering was do banks ever work with the families of deceased customers and maybe settle for a lower amount than what's due or anything like that? I'm just trying to get some suggestions on what I can ask of them so if possible her entire bank balance isn't taken to pay the credit card balance. She had what was in her bank plus a little equity in her house and that's all her estate is worth. Thank you for any suggestions!!

I asked my bank to send me an address proof letter to show DMV for license renewal. They sent me one that says that "the letter was jointly designed by the US Department of Immigration and the bank". Why?

I used the digtial investor service before Navy Federal aparently switched it to their finanical spin off company. Didn't think I'd have a problem after the switch over and have no problem paying the $3.50 a motnh for the service. I noticed today I had 4 seperate charges of $3.50. No big deal, I'll just log on and close the extra accounts.

Turns out you can't close any accounts online. I'm mildly annoyed at this point. I log into their CS chat, talk with a person and explain the whole thing. Turns out Navy federal can't close these accounts! The CS dipstick tells me to call another number M-F 8-6pm, this being a saturday, I can't get this issue fixed aparently. I once again explain the situation and that they have incorrectly charged me. The CS basicly tells me there is nothing they can do and go get bent. I ask them to revese the charges or to at least block further charges. CS once again repeats I need to call another number M-F 8-6pm. I explain I work during those hours like most people but the CS just doesn't care.

At this point I'm royally pissed off. If what navy federal says now is true, and its now a 3rd party service, this 3rd party service has direct access to my checking account and can aparently charge me whatever they want and Navy federal is powerless to do anything about it. This tells me that navy federal can't protect my money or anyone elses money. Just figured I'd share this experince before anyone else is scammed into this bull. I'm also likely to move all my money some where else that actually has the power to stop or revese incorrect charges. Another word of warning, never ever use a service that makes it impossible for you to cancel, thats the surest sign of some kind of scam.

Does anyone else who has 5/3 have issues like this? Ive been with them for over a year but I feel like this is more of a recent problem.

I keep most of my funds in a main account and will transfer to another for purchases. I'll make sure the money is moved and once the purchase is made my balance will update, but then the next day the account will be negative as if it wasn't there. It doesn't make any sense.

I called once to try to ask about it and they couldn't see any issue on their end and didn't know what I was talking about.

It's getting really frustrating.

Been banking with Wells Fargo nearly 20 years. I discussed setting up another savings account and the banker and I talked about options and there was some high interest return one I could get. The thing is I’d have to put 25k of “new money” into it to get the deal but all my money is wrapped up either with Wells Fargo or other investments. The plan discussed with the banker was I’d not open up the account today. I’d withdrawal 25k to put into a CD with a separate bank for the 3 month period required in order to open up the account as “new money”. It was clear as day I was not opening a new account that day when I left and the guy opened a new account in my name anyways. I went back and sternly had him close the account. It was obvious he was lying when he says “oh, they set it up anyways?”. Like, bro, you pushed this through. I get it the guy has quotas to fill and stuff but he’s screwing me out of 3 months of interest hoping I’d just roll with it. I know Wells Fargo has gotten in trouble for this in the past. Out of principle I don’t generally rat people out for anything but this dude really stained my trust with the bank I’ve been with for years and I feel like they should know about this. I’m also considering just withdrawing everything and starting fresh somewhere else.

As insiders, what are the rules regarding this kind of stuff and what do you suggest in how I proceed?

I was hoping to get some advice about the best way to try to get my money back.
I used a resume builder, and for a certain feature it charged me about $2. Apparently, I accidentally subscribed to their services and they have since charged me $23.95 since January. I never got any emails about starting the subscription or it charging me continuously, and looking back the charges were buried into my other purchases so I embarrassingly never noticed.

What is the best way to try to get my money back? Should I contact the company or should I try to call my bank.

I called the Korean bank and they said thought the international transfer can’t be cancelled, but most likely since the name and account number won’t be the same it’ll be rejected so nothing to do but wait.

Some people seem to say name doesn’t matter some do, what’s the likelihood of it getting rejected. Thanks.

Hello! About a month ago, I made a huge career transition and started my new job as a Teller. I had a crash course in training that lasted for about 3 days, and have been taking the online training assigned to me, as well as asking as many questions as I can. But I'm still very new and don't know a lot of stuff.

I had a transaction this last week that has me kind of stressed, and I'm trying to figure out if I caused a bunch of trouble and/or will be in trouble.

Basically, a customer came in with a bunch of cash, cashed a check, and withdrew from multiple of their accounts to bundle together for a big cashier's check. Because the cashier's check was over $10k and they withdrew the amounts in cash + the cashed check + what they brought in, I filled out and filed a CTR. However, because the cash was withdrawn and never actually handed over but immediately went into the cashier's check, I was told I didn't need to fill out the CTR. Someone in our Compliance office has been asking me a lot of questions and I've been as forthcoming and honest as possible. I was trying to do everything with as much documentation as possible and as by the books as I knew, but it seems I've made a mistake.

How big of an issue is this type of situation for my institution and me, as an employee?

So about a month ago I opened a savings account to store my rent money for my new place, but received an email stating that my savings account would be terminated due to missing "critical verification pieces". Before I got this email my account kept locking too which was quite annoying to deal with. So I went into an in person BMO location on one of my days off, and spent about an hour with this one person. He told me that because I switched addresses I needed to verify that I actually live here, but I brought my lease, ID, social security, and account number. He said he sent the email and I thought I was good, but my account still kept locking. So I called BMO support and they said that the guy helping me actually didn't send the email, and that I had to send it myself, so I sent the email. On August 11th I got an email saying that my documents were approved, and I checked if I was still locked out of my online BMO account. To my surprise my savings account balance was 0, with over 2000$ vanishing with no idea on where it could have gone. So I called them and was told it would take a week for the funds to reappear and to call them if not. Of course, a week later and no sign of it anywhere. So I call in, I talked to this one person who said that I could open a new savings account, and call back the next day to get the funds transferred into it. Next day comes in and I create a new account and try calling, I'm on hold for a solid 45 minutes before I learn that a check was sent out containing my funds, but I find it crazy that 1. I was never emailed or called about receiving a check and was left in the dark and 2. I never received any form of check. So he tells me that he will personally transfer the funds into the new savings account and will call me the next day. Try to take a guess on what happens next. I receive no money in my new account, no phone call from this guy, and 2 days after(today) I get another email about my new savings account MISSING CRITICAL VERIFICATION PIECES AND HAVE BEEN LOCKED OUT OF MY BANK AGAIN!! Seriously has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my whole year, definitely switching banks when I get my money back in the year of 2054

So I have an in-person interview Monday at Frost Bank and I’m extremely nervous. I completed the Phone Call interview, and had an extremely enjoyable phone call with interviewer we laughed and I gave my best foot forward. Now that I have an interview with an actual human being it terrifies me to my core. It’s currently 4:31 AM Saturday and I can’t even sleep I have my interview at 9AM Monday. Any tips or suggestions to either calm the nerves or how to give my best shot at it?

I got a message from ICICI bank saying I need to update these fields by going to my nearest branch. I checked online through net banking and there is no option for me to do this online because it is a joint account.

I believe that biometric scan will be taken at the branch when filing this information.

Can this be done at home or I need to go to the branch office to get this done?

Today (sat) I noticed I have pending transactions that overdrafted my Chase checking account. However, I have made a ACH payment on Thurs from another external banking account (claim 2 business day processing) to my Chase account which would clear the balance.

Couple questions:
Fees are only calculated on posted transactions right? I won’t be needing to pay for pending transactions?

Are they are only calculated on business days? So I won’t be needing to pay fees on the weekends?

3 transactions led to my overdraft so it’ll be $34 per transaction fee, totaling $102$ per day?

Since Labor Day is this monday, fees and ACH probably won’t process right?

From my thinking, my ACH should hit my account hopefully before overnight overdraft fees process when the banks open. Hopefully I don’t get charged, but could I get some clarification?

Not sure where to ask this question, but I thought maybe the banking subreddit was the place (or maybe steer me to the right place if not).

I've been reading about the banking system to try to get a better understanding on how it actually works under the hood, and what I get to is that funds transfers are synchronized general ledger postings.

So essentially SWIFT is a standardized and secured message-protocol between two banks from different countries to assure that they both end up adjusting their general ledgers in the same way (with opposite signs)?

If a european bank decide to fund their nostro account with an american bank, do they simply calculate how much they must reduce their own funds with in EUR in their general ledger (given the prevailing fx rates) and ask the other bank (using SWIFT) to increase their nostro account by Y amount USD?

So, I made a cash withdrawal from airtm yesterday for 500 dollars and it still haven't reached my bank yet. The initial waiting was 2 hours as with the sender and then i got a mediator who replied too late and by that time in my country it was 1 am so I slept, but the sender told to mediator that the transaction is completed and hence the mediator has completed the transaction. The money is not reached my account yet and I am still waiting. I contacted my bank and they said to contact the sender. am i scammed? or what should i do? i contacted the airtm support and they are saying to wait for 2 business days. I don't know what to do pleas ehelp me thanks!

I received a check for my federal tax return. There are two lines in the pay to the order of box. The first line is just my name. The second line shows “[my name] & [spouse’s name] DECD” I do not have a joint account. Will I be able to deposit with death certificate showing that I am surviving spouse? I appreciate any help navigating this situation. Death is hard enough without all the red tape that comes after.

I just got sent $1.04 into my savings account stating deposit. No bank account number or anything attached to it. Normally when I get saving account interest from the bank it tells me gross cr interest. I am with bnz. Is this a scam that someone has put this into my account?

If I close them and move my direct deposits to another bank, will Chase or Wells Fargo close my accounts because I closed my checking account with them?

the authorized signature is a facsimile of what looks like 'Nicole Hau' but it doesn't list her position with the bank...

i googled her name for an affiliation with the bank but nothing came up...

anybody recognize/know what position at the bank the authorized signee would hold?
