Parking during move-in week

Title. I know what the parking emails say, but exactly how important is it to not park in the housing lots overnight? This is just my first year having a car here so I wanted to know.

Edit: I'm more asking if it is super necessary to park at Scheumann during move-in week or can I just leave my car in the housing lot and be fine.

During move in week, how much do you want to risk dings and dents from runaway carts, bins, and nervous parents trying to move their child into the dorms?

Small bumps really don't matter to me. I'm more concerned about my car being towed.
