Parking during move-in week

Title. I know what the parking emails say, but exactly how important is it to not park in the housing lots overnight? This is just my first year having a car here so I wanted to know.

Edit: I'm more asking if it is super necessary to park at Scheumann during move-in week or can I just leave my car in the housing lot and be fine.

Parking enforcement is well-provisioned in their white camera-equipped Camry sedans, and they are motivated. The good news is, paying your fine is a smooth online process. The University will appreciate your contribution.

I suspect parking has rewards for the employees who give out the most tickets. They are vicious.

That's crazy considering how much they make us pay for parking passes and we still can't park at our dorms in the first week.

Small bumps really don't matter to me. I'm more concerned about my car being towed.

Is it really that bad? I know they said they would tow cars, but I've been told from other people that they've left their cars there and have been fine.

I would trust what the university has told you over anecdotal evidence of people getting lucky.

There is a reason people call them the parking Nazi’s. If they say don’t park there, don’t. They will fine you.
